The billboard on the abortion trucks has changed. Now it shows an aborted fetus, a black man with lash marks on his body and a lynched black man. The explanation (that I had to find in the local paper in the comments section where the photographer explained the photo's content) is that we abolished slavery but can't abolish abortion but the message on the trucks isn't clear and appears to suggest something more sinister. http://www.wsbt.com/news/local/44808322.html |

Here's the image. I got it from the website for the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform: http://abortionno.org/images/obama_signs/legislate_morality.jpg |

Ugly images, aren't they? All of them. Auschwitz pales in scope to abortion in this country. |

I disagree, there ought to be no comparison between abortion and the depraved barbarity and insanity of the ideology and persons that spawned the Final Solution and its death camps. |

That's absolutely sick. Just who do these idiots think they are educating/converting with their message? Certainly disgust and repulsion are emotions evoked, but I'd be willing to bet it's aimed at the sick puppies who drive around with these images. |

I still think that outlawing abortion doesn't address the CAUSES of abortion demand in the first place, like the inaccurate success rate of birth control for example. But no one wants to look at that. Especially the men. they seem to prefer to think that these women get pregnant on their own. |

So abortion demand causes abortion? I don't follow you. I think abortion demand is caused by a man and a woman doing something natural within the framework of unnatural social/societal pressures. |

I agree with you that societal pressure to kill one's baby is unnatural. But as long as we have folks (such as a number of the folks here) who are willing to rationalize that the fetus is not a human being and that there is no real crime being committed (no innocent human being being hurt by another) then the question of causes really don't matter regarding the legal status. The analogy is simply that were there a movement that saw credit card fraud as not a real crime because the folks who commit credit card fraud really needed the money, then I assume it would not be germane to either of us as to the question of whether credit card fraud ought to be legalized or kept legal or anything else. It should be outlawed regardless of the causes of credit card fraud. |

There is demand for any number of things that are illegal. That is not a reason to make them legal. |
