My oldest brought this home from school today. It's a charcoal drawing she did for art class.

Quite cool.

I would not be surprised if The Bear will use this as a pinup-dog for his doghouse.

I agree that it merits considerably more than a place on the refrigerator.

She's 17. Graduating soon and then off to college. :weeping:

I am trying to find a fixing spray that is compatible with charcoal. Then it's off to be framed.

I don't want to give any bad advice that ends up ruining anything, but when I was in art class we just shot charcoal drawings with hair spray.

Hairspray will cause the drawing to yellow over time, due to the alcohol in it. "Workable Fixatif" by Krylon, is what I usually use.

Very nice job your daughter did, particularly with the textures. :thumb:

Art stores have it, Hobby Lobby has it. Her art instructor probably has some, or something like it.

very nice! if there was one talent i wish i had, it would be drawing. my second choice would be having the energy to press the shift key.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

That's really awesome. When you post about how the whole world is going to hell in a handbasket keep in mind that there are young people just starting out in the world that want to believe that the world is theirs and they can make it a better place. Let her.

The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D
