And say 'yes' to the STV referendum!! If it doesn't go through this time, we're screwed. Some good info here if you've still got questions. Check out Christy Clark's video if nothing else; she makes some good points. |

I fear a lot of people feel the same way. Very poorly promoted, imo. You can find good clear explanations with a bit of research but I suspect a whole lot of folk will just not bother, and vote 'no' today because they aren't clear on the concept. I believe this single transferrable vote system would change our elections for the better because of our ability to rank candidates. We could see an end to the ugly, pointless, mud slinging, and more effort being put into proving oneself to be a worthy candidate, rather than just trashing the other guy. How refreshing would that be, eh?! I heard someone on the radio yesterday predict that if the canucks lost last night that voter turnout would be bad. Let's hope that's not the case. And let's hope we never have to see another Gordon Campbell tv ad.

The vote wasn't that complicated at all, really. It only took a 30 second video to explain it perfectly. I just couldn't get a straight answer about it from anybody. Prejudice and fear of change, no doubt. Canucks got slaughtered in the end. Luongo was tired, they weren't aggressive enough when they were down, or protective enough when they were ahead. Sad that this is the farthest we've come in the playoffs since...'95, was it? Oh yeah, ditto to the ads. Even without cable these things will find you. |

Well that sucked. Another 4 years of Campbell. And the defeat of the STV system. I'm really disappointed.
