HOLY CARP!!!
IT and I saw The Soloist today, based on a true story about a reporter who comes across a schizophrenic homeless man who plays the cello beautifully. We really enjoyed the movie -- the beauty and power of music and friendship, struggles with mental illness, isolation, independence.

We had first watched the 60 Minutes piece about Lopez and Ayers, which made the movie more enjoyable, knowing how true it was, having seen the real Ayers.

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
Lopez was on NPR yesterday - interesting piece on their relationship.
Once in his life, every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a gorgeous redhead - Lucille Ball

Hmm. I've the book here (I haven't read it). Perhaps I'll see the movie. The story sounds fascinating.
