Sorry, I don't read Daily Kos.
Neither do I. What does that have to do with this? The interview taken out of context by drudge came from the SF Chronicle, IIRC.
Uh, Jon, it is obviously some other source than the Chronicle interview. Can you point me to place in the Chronicle interview where he used the phrases "meet the rigors of the market" or "what I've said is that we will put a cap and trade system in place that is as aggressive if not more aggressive than anybody's else's out there..."? I confess I did not listen to the whole hour tape, but he seems to be talking about coal specifically at 40:30.

I think you are simply showing some other occasion where he spoke about the same topic and said something different. I might have missed the other part, but unless I did I don't see how that challenges the statements (which seem to be in his own voice) that I posted.
The dogma lives loudly within me.

I never denied he would put a cap and trade system in place, IT. I said the 'bankrupt the coal industry' quote was taken out of context. THats from the SFC interview.

(even the nutter video you linked to says (between hyperventilations) that its from the SFC interview
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Jon: Neither of the extensive passages in the video I linked seem to be from the SF Chronicle interview with the Editorial board. This does not seem to be a cut and paste job, since (AFAICT) none of the sentences he speaks even appear in the Chronicle meeting video. The video I linked says "San Francisco Gate Interview Jan 2008", not "San Francisco Chronicle Editorial Board Interview Jan 2008." Do you know that Obie only gave one interview in San Francisco in January 2008?

Regardless of when and where he said it, (and the person who put together that video might even have made a scribner's error), are you saying that Obama never uttered those words? Did they use a voice simulator to put those words in his mouth?

IT - your little nutter is not particularly literate. He seems to be calling the 'SF Chronical' the 'SF Gate'. The Chronicle's website is SFGate.com.

Cut to the chase Jon. I am not going to watch all 52 minutes of it. Give me the times where you think the video lifted and cut and pasted his words and edited them to give a distorted impression. AFAICT, it is only at 40:30 ff. Where else?

Jon: Once again all you can do is make ad hominem arguments. That is pathetically weak. I already said it could be a scribner's error. Show me the sections of the interview where Obie used the same words in the other video. It seems to be from another occasion. The point is not when Obie said it, but if he did.

You are claiming that the link I posted is a fabrication. Show me how that was done, stitched together from the words Obie used at the SF Chronicle interview.

I claimed it is wildly out of context and that if you listen to the entire tape, its obvious he views coal and nuclear as part of the solution. I promise you its there. I listened to it myself and even quoted it back in November.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Jon: I found and listened to the section at 25:36 ff where he speaks of coal and cap and trade. I see your point (partially). I don't get how he can on the one hand claim that he will make it financially infeasible to produce coal (unless clean), yet the tax source from the cap and trade program on unclean coal will produce billions of dollars in revenues to invest in clean technologies. It seems unless coal can be made clean, that he will tax it into nonexistence. In which case there will be no revenue to invest.
