Holy crap.

That is one of the sickest, most frightening CRA stories I've ever heard. Unbelievable.

No attorney is willing to take it on a contingency basis?

I don't think lawyers can do that in Canada. Their national and provincial Bar Associations won't allow it.

How about pro-bono. then? It's probably moot. I can't imagine this guy can't find some sort of legal counsel, or somebody willing to put up the funds for counsel.

He probably does, and this is a step being taken by the attorney to drum up some support and put some pressure on Revenue.

I find it hard to believe that this guy can bring a lawsuit against CRA but cannot retain counsel to pursue it.

There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it".

And look how our own PM is handling this?
My gosh.

We pay a dear high amount of taxes in this country already. You'd think some of this blessed money earned by Canadians could fund a competent group of people at the tax office.

The guy needs his cash, his credit, and some over & above compensation for the sh*t he endured.

No but I am sure that the Harper G'ovt will be more than happy to compensate the Omar Khadr, if he ever gets out of Gitmo, as we compensated Maher Arar- in the millions of dollars.
