Just curious how many people here play. Doesn't have to be serious. Even if it's only once in a while. Is everyone here musical?

I ask because this forum was spawned from a piano forum, but we've had a lot of new members that I never saw at PW. God knows how they all ended up in this hole. :D

Some days I think I play the piano. Other days I don't.

I play piano, trumpet, lead and rhythm guitar, drums, and I sing. The only things I've had formal instruction with, are two years of piano, and eight years in the marching band with trumpet.

I play a few intruments but to describe my playing as even remotely musical is a bit of a stretch.

I do however play the stereo exceptionally well.

I play piano, organ, and a few chords on the guitar for my personal amusement. I played the sousaphone in high school band.

I started piano when I was 5. Played until I was 18. Also played clarinet, sax, and oboe.

I don't play anything but MP3s these days.

I want to take up the cello. I need to do some life-rearranging to make that happen.

I still attempt the piano.
I would've loved to learn guitar, or another string instrument.
I'd need someone patient to teach me.

I take piano lessons. I could make the joke here about how I play it poorly, but I think that's too easy/obvious. My teacher makes me sound better than I am, though.

My boys also take piano and cello, so I spend a lot of time overseeing their efforts.

We dedicate a good deal of energy toward music in the family.

I used to play the piano - poorly - but haven't for a good while. A thousand years ago, I played trombone pretty well.

I know someone who plays french horn like a trombone...she takes her hand out of the bell and misses all of the notes.

I was a band geek to. I loved marching band! I conducted my senior year in concert band, that was pretty cool too.

How many trumpet players does it take to screw in a light bulb.

:lol2: Marching band was great... We did a lot of songs that you wouldn't think would lend themselves to a band, but we made it work, and we had fun along the way. (A favorite trick was to wing the bass drum sticks into the sousaphone.)

Used to play the piano, but since my proximity to one has gone down quite a bit, I suppose that's on a bit of a hiatus.
