IT: My reference to academics (I admit in very poor taste) was in the plural and thus was by definition not a singular personal attack.

Methinks IT is relying on the Sarcrastic method. I totally pwn3d him. Academics don't know how to take getting pwn3d.

Not a personal attack, huh? Uh, sure, if you insist.

Some of us did, not me mind you, and for some unknown reason we started to cache arms and an altercation with secular authorities ensued. Not pretty.

You're right. We should have stuck it out with you folks.

it's true that studies relating to quantum physics, multi-dimensionality, and other avenues are sometimes positing concepts that are quite parallel to certain issues of religious faith, or bolster the potential correctness of what's been defined in non-scientific manners in the past.

Thanks for that. I've been struck by creationist or creation science theories over the past decade or so where pseudoscientists cook up new ways that the earth could have formed in seven days (global water fissures etc).

What I'm learning in my astronomy class, especially in relation to variations in time, can easily confirm the Genesis timeline. I can totally see how earth could have been created in 7 days (or 7 seconds for that matter so maybe God was having a lazy week). So, I see some futility in creating an entirely new set of scientific "facts" when the existing ones seem to be putting creation and evolution on a collision course.

As for relaxed confidence or faith, I appreciate your input. I have my own spiritual faith and it rather suddenly seems to be working in other aspects of my life.
