The college list now stands:

Duke - Accepted to univ.
Carnegie Mellon - Accepted to univ. and music school
Vanderbilt - Accepted to univ. and Blair School of Music
MIT - rejected
Juilliard - rejected
Columbia - accepted to univ.
Harvard - accepted to univ.
New England Conservatory of Music - STILL WAITING TO HEAR :cursing:

That alone makes quite an interesting day! Congratulations!
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

I must be old. I read the school stuff first. Duh .. I'm an idiot.
Yes, of course. You scored big Ben. I understand your elation.
I was too afraid to ask my real crush to my senior prom.
So apart from the actual ceremony, I never went.

Ben, that list rocks. ENjoy your prom - this year is my daughter's first.

Janet and I and her boyfriend's parents will work the after prom, so she is making us promise to stay in the kitchen. Hah!

So awesome, Ben.

Harvard -- that's pretty exciting. My husband went to Yale and it was four of the best years of his life. Our best friends now are his friends from college. We all stay in touch and vacation together with wives and kids. They are a thoughtful and funny group. I wish you this.

What are you looking for in your four years? My piano teacher went to Julliard and came out not knowing what beer goggles are. I found that hole in his education shocking.

Fantastic, Ben! Ju rool!
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

Thanks, everyone... maybe even JB... :P

Even better news - Harvard's financial aid package has cut the cost down to $14,100/year!!!! I am really stunned. I still haven't heard from the New England Conservatory, but even if I don't get in, it will be hard to turn down Harvard. The fact that I might actually be going there is just barely starting to sink in :hair:

As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

Sheesh, you got into Harvard and I have to explain the obvious here.

Cut off the sleeves and collar and make it into a cooler muscle shirt and continue to wear it every day. That way people can see the Harvard tatoo on your delt.

Something like this, but smaller and more tasteful: :D
