Creating opportunities for ones children is a conditio sine qua non. But on this matter I need some thoughtful comments .My daughter (20 years) may participate in a students' exchange program between Cuba and Belgium . I think this might be a lifetime experience for her: a completely different climate, political environment, cultural immersion, whatever. I have no problems with her going to Cuba, I have no issues at stake with Cuba. The problem is that I and my daughter know 'zip' about 'living and studying' in Cuba (Havana that would be). So I would very much appreciate any thorough advice on : housing, medical care, internet access, jou just name it .My daughter is to stay there from September 2009 till January 2010 in order to improve her Spanish communicative skills (she's doing her master 'interpretor Spanish/French/Dutch'). I don't need the 'Good-for-her"-stuff .All I need is reliable information which a student (and in this case her parents) may want. Thanks for your input !Wim |

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead

Wim, I think you may get some help from our non-USA members. With the state of US-Cuba relations in most of our lifetimes, I'd say we really know very little about it. |
