HOLY CARP!!!
Things at work are insane! I had someone email and ask me to come out an administer a test on one of her students. The test takes about an hour. I gave her my first available date: May 6th.

Tonight, we presented at our SEAC (Special Education Advisory Committee) meeting. We've been on the speaking circuit this year with our Board, but I think this is the last of the dog and pony show. Bonus: the Superintendent took us out for dinner before hand. A bit awkward (I love my Super, but I'm a social idiot and clam up in those situations) but really nice of him.

We start our final round of Core sessions next week. We're teaching each team for two consecutive days so they can make a claymation video of an environmental issue. We had to make a sample, which my teaching partner and I thought was hysterically funny. We were laughing our fool heads off. Those of you who have me on Facebook may have already been subjected to it (if you watch, check out the credits. We're such dorks!). Very silly. I'm looking forward to the sessions, though it's bizarre that Wednesday will be the last time I see Team 1! The year in my new job is just flying by!

I'm taking a course (Special Education part II) and doing really well. A+ on every assignment so far. I've signed up for Part III, which gives me my Special Education Specialist qualification (I'll be doubly special! ;) ). It cost $900 for each course (3 of them), and it amounts to between $3000-4000 a year on my salary. w00t! Eventually I'll take another 3 courses to get another specialist, but I'm not sure what I want yet. That one won't be a salary bump, but it's necessary if I want to aspire to certain positions in the Board. I actually enjoy taking the courses, so it's all good. Just pricey (and time consuming!)

Liam is growing like a weed. I measured him a month ago, and again the other night because I've suddenly had to donate a bunch of his jeans. He's grown an inch in that time. Crazy! He's started making videos with my camera. It's hilarious - he goes into the bedroom and films these bizarre videos of Transformers attacking dinosaurs. Quite amusing. He hasn't quite convinced me to let him post them on youTube. :P He's doing well in school, but I'm already getting the "Mom...it's so boring! We been doing this for WEEKS!" Ugh. He loves math and art, though. :)

I'm moving to a new place in June. I'm a little worried. It's a bit bigger, but not a lot. But the floor plan is WAY better, it's in the town where Liam goes to school, and will cut down my commute by 20 minutes each way (I have to drive through that town no matter where I'm going that day, because I live in one extreme end of my huge Board). The place needs work, and I have the landlord's word that it'll be done. Small town gossip says I can trust him. I hope so! The bonus is that it's only $100 more a month than I'm paying now (and the place I have now is ridiculously cheap), and it has in building laundry and a dishwasher. I can live with a lot for those little "luxuries".

I'm not getting enough sleep. (It's 1:25am, I'm just taking a break from doing a bit of coursework, and I have to be at a meeting that's two hours away in the morning. Oi.) I had to administer a test late this afternoon at a school, then had that meeting tonight, so between the test and dinner I took a half hour nap in my car in a Canadian Tire parking lot. There just aren't enough hours in the day!

So things are going well - just really busy!

What's going on in your world?
