HOLY CARP!!!

I think this is the first all-electric sedan. The specs look impressive, and it's a thing of beauty. Price is a bit high, but it's tempting. I hope it does well... the American auto industry could use this kind of innovative product.

Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

It does like a little Porsche-ish. It's beautiful.
It would be unwise to underestimate what large groups of ill-informed people acting together can achieve. -- John D'Oh, January 14, 2010.

Apparently it has some connection to the Lotus Elise.

The British programme Top Gear did a comparison between it and the gas-powered version, and it absolutely slaughtered it in a drag race - it did 0-60 in less than 4 seconds.

Plus think how sweet it must be to accelerate that quickly with almost no engine noise.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Top Gear Review

(Top Gear is one of the best programmes on TV, incidentally, in my colonising opinion)

NICE!! I used to drive past the Lotus dealership in Tokyo, all the time. Gawwwwd... *drool* Beautiful, beautiful cars, and yeah... I can see the lines of the Tesla favoring the Lotus a little. :thumb:

Different Tesla: the review is for the Tesla Roadster, the two-seater coupe which was indeed based on the Lotus Elise chassis. The Tesla Model S won't have the same kind of performance, being a larger sedan, but will be less expensive and more practical.

Pardon my ignorance, this is a "plug-in" electric, right?

Correct. Teslas are all-electric.
