I am making progress on my to-do list before daughter and I fly off to meet hubby. What did I forget to put on my list? You know there's something missing. There always is. What should be on it? |

Gosh, I'm hoping the hotels have those! And I'm not shy about asking for more. Pillows, too. I often ask for more pillows.

No way! you should never take an umbrella on a vacation. Bad luck. It might rain if you do. You're not going on holiday to get rained on, are you? Ok, maybe that's just me.

Hubby was in a production of The Sound of Music last summer and had the opportunity to wear lederhosen for one scene. Monday, after daughter and I took hubby to the airport, we had lunch at the Subway and there sat one of his co-stars. He said hubby was just going for the lederhosen. |

QI - that is one handy little gizmo, and NOOOOO I don't have one. Maybe I could quick go get one tomorrow. I might get another small pair of noise cancelling headphones, too. Hubby took one pair, and we only have one more. Do any of you use those? Do you like them? |

Hubby says it might be nice to have here on the US side of the trip in case there is a delay or cancellation. He even asked me to bring mine, so I will. Are there extra brownies in heaven for us when we do this for our hubbies??? I'm really hoping so. |

Passport. Advil. You can buy the plug adapter at the airport. I have a friend who uses the noise-canceling headphones (Bose I think) and he swears by them. |

Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool. I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss! - Cecil Lewis | |

Really? I thought it worked the opposite way. ie. You are waiting for an important phone call, but you also need to run an errand. If you leave for the errand, you'll miss the call. If you wait around, the call won't come. |
