Shampoo Rant

:mad2: Does anybody else here just use plain regular shampoo? No "Volumizing", no extra Vitamin E, no silk protein formulas, just plain shampoo?! For three days, I've been stopping at grocery stores, and none of them have just plain formula shampoo. Every time I use one of those specialty shampoos, it makes my hair frizz out like a 'fro, or lay just perfectly fat like Moe from The Stooges. This is pissing me off. I just want regular shampoo and nobody is selling it! I'm going to start looling like Bob Marley pretty soon.

Worse... My wife is on a big organics kick, lately. She keeps getting this stuff that's supposed to smell nice, but all it smells is irritating, and it doesn't lather worth a sh!t. :veryangry: :weeping:

Well, least the shampoo issue would be resolved then.

Don't use shampoo--or anything else.

Water works just fine.

Regular old Suave works fine for me.

Now the three ladies of the house, that's a different story. We've got a plumbing leak in the drain of the girls' bathroom and I can't afford to get it fixed at the moment, so all four of us are using the shower in the master bath. There are so many bottles of different shampoos, conditioners, and other crap that I don't even know what it is sitting on shower floor that I can hardly find room to stand. I'm not kidding you; I counted all the bottles sharing the shower with me the other morning - there were THIRTEEN. And that didn't count the bottle of Suave that I used. Did I mention there were only three of them, and not an army? Sheesh...

As an experiment, a brave male could volunteer to exchange all of the different bottles of girlie-crap shampoo with different coloured washing-up liquid. If they don't notice in 1 week, we'll save a bloody fortune. If they do, well, consider yourself to have taken one for the platoon.

Try the children's shampoo. They have fun scents like banana mango smoothie and whipped strawberry cream pie.

Plus, with the organic stuff, it's not thick enough to make shampoo mohawks! :veryangry: And I am very VERY angry about that!

(Dewey, it's no better with only TWO ladies in the house!) :weeping:

Ditto. Been using it for 25 years. And it's dirt cheap too. :thumb:

If you want trouble, find yourself a redhead
The old Herbal Essence green shampoo was really good. Now I use Neutrogena or Tresseme . You can get like a 50 gallon drum for Tresseme for about $4 and it's good shampoo.

Looking on the bright side, as we get older there's less to worry about washing.

Yup, Suave seems to be a great alternative for the males. Very cheap!

As to the lots of shampoo bottles lining the shower's edge. . . I totally understand. I'm not a big cosmetics consumer or anything, but I've gotta have at least two separate shampoo options. I'll get a good three to four weeks with one shampoo, then my hair starts to get pretty flat and gross-feeling. Gotta switch it up every so often.

Suave recently gave away free bottles of shampoo, nationwide. All you had to do was email in for the coupon.

I'm with ya. Head and Shoulders changed their formula a while ago and no longer sell anything that doesn't have "conditioner" in it as far as i can tell. So now I just use the generic store brand.

Suave has a pretty decent dandruff shampoo without the conditioner. I use it a couple of times a year.

As far as regular Suave, everything I'm finding has added something or another.

Johnson & Johnson's baby shampoo is pretty good, plus it works as a fog-preventer in my scuba mask. :thumb:
