Shamrock Half-Marathon; ...race report

Hey everyone - went down to Virginia Beach this weekend to run the Shamrock Half-Marathon.

The weather was chilly but nice, the course was flat, and my training runs and prep leading up to this was really going well so I was looking forward to a great race. Luckily everything came together as I hoped it might and I ended up finishing much faster than expected.

Did the half-marathon (13.1 miles) in 1 hour and 34 minutes, which is a 7:10/mi pace. Much faster than any training runs I've done...so that was a pleasant surprise!

Came in 258th out of 6,000 finishers. :)

Next race: Pittsburgh full marathon on May 3rd. Cheers!

Great, Isaac! :thumb:

Ben, endurance seems to come with age. I think it's science or something. :P

Yeah, I didn't break the two-minute barrier until after I turned 18.

In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Cathy

PS - Did you happen to listen to the band in the big tent afterwards, at all?

As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

89th that's a band we try to catch around town, very fun. We were up front there watching people that had just run 13+ miles dance around - crazy :D. I'd be finding the medic tent - LOL. The boys and I took a bunch of pics of the band and the crowd :).

Heck, I could run a marathon with those fancy anti gravitational shoes you have.
