I'm thinking about mounting my 42" flat-screen TV on the wall. I've been pricing the mounting uints on-line. If I purchased the mounting unit Best Buy recommonds for my TV I'd be dropping over $600. Not gonna happen! I was checking Amazon which has better prices, but still fairly expensive. My living room is only 14' x 17'. I think getting the TV off the floor would make the room feel bigger, then I could have a just-big-enough cabinet to house the electronics. My house has built-in shelves and drawers in one corner of the LR. Maybe I could use them instead of a seperate cabinet. They're just full of carp, anyway. Is it really cool to have your TV on the wall? Or is it just a gimmick? I'd like to hear your thoughts, experiences. |

I personally don't like it on the wall. Just get a nice cabinet or TV stand made for larger TV's - they look sleek and stylish, and are less of a hassle than wall mounting. |

HOLY CARP!!!

Because of our big beehive fireplace, we had to wall mount our 42" plasma to make it work in the family room. It's on a swing arm, which I love. I swing the plasma out if I want to watch it from the kitchen. It's great being able to move it and tilt it for the best viewing angle in that part of the house. The mounting unit was $300 at Best Buy. |

ours is on the wall, mounted on the mounting bracket we bought with it...it wasn't very much, maybe it was a deal with the TV. Our house is tiny. We need the floor space and the wall offers the best viewing potential for the largest array of viewers in our family room. Works a treat. |

I've a small one (with built in DVD) mounted in front of my TM. On a swing arm. Those arms are great. I can rotate it however I want. I think from now on, every T.V. will be wall mounted if possible. It adds so much space. |
