HOLY CARP!!!
Mr. Soak has that horrendous flu that's going around. No Rochester weekend for me. My apartment is clean and sparkly.

I'm currently eating xnipec and tortilla chips and am about ready to watch V for Vendetta. Earlier, I took a swim in my tub and read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (it's about all my brain can handle right now). I have the sponge for my bagels rising right now. I'll have to go deal with them in 40 minutes or so.

Tomorrow, I plan on staying in my jammies, other than the obligatory drop off of fresh bagels.

Sunday - more of the same, though I might make some baguettes. And maybe, just maybe, do some laundry.

What about you?

It's going to be one of those dreadful weekends here where the weather dictates indoor activity only. I have a fully stocked larder thanks to a recent Costco excursion, so I can relax about meals - whatever comes to mind to prepare, I'm certain to have all the ingredients here. That's a good thing, cuz I plan to spend the whole weekend in sweats and slippers...and going from type of keyboard to another.

You can never get enough of what you don't need to make you happy.

I'll be stripping wallpaper, and maybe some wool (doing some hooking).

I started typing out my weekend plans and they just looked too dull to mention. Oh, well -- I'll enjoy them. :P

Though I will mention this. . .after not having played it for a few years, I end up playing Apples to Apples twice this weekend. Anybody else play it before? I'm not a big board game person, but I always have a good time with this one.

Yes, we have that game. It's fun trying to guess what other people will choose. I love Sorry! and Clue as well. And dominoes and backgammon and . . .

I've never played it. I've seen it around a million times and have never really looked closely at it. Can you give me a couple of examples of the types of questions?

You hold five (or other amount of) cards at a time. For each round, a player takes a turn being the judge. He picks a green "description word" card (e.g. "offensive"). The other players each pick a card from their pile of cards that they predict the judge will choose as the best description, and place them in a pile for the judge to read. So, for "offensive" (a word I presented during my turn as judge), I had people pick such things as "vomit" and "festering wound." I, however, thought that the "Keanu Reeves" card was a hilarious response to "offensive," and so chose that as the winner. I mean, how could you not? :lol2:

I enjoy it because it doesn't require a lot of concentration, and things like drinking and side conversations just add to the fun.

I think at least four would be ideal, though you could probably swing it with three.

Yes, at least four really. You don't want it to be obvious who the cards are coming from and the more cards the better the variety.
