A Trillion in Tax Hikes

HOLY CARP!!!
If I remember correctly it was the democrats who would not get on-board with the tax cuts if they didn't expire.

Even so, the republicans have abandoned anything resembling fiscal conservatism and as you said in another thread in another place, they have not been fiscally conservative since the 1950s/1960s.

But being against Kennedy's tax cuts was the beginning of their loss of conservative principals not a sign that they were fiscally conservative.

Maybe we'll get a real fiscal conservative in the White House in 2012.
The GOP doesn't have any left and no one in the democratic party will challenge Obama. You'll have to wait until 2016 at the earliest.

So let's see...if we tax the top 2% in America @ 100% of income...nah, still won't pay for this.

Wonder who we gonna tax to get the money?

The worlds a complex place, JB.

But Bush made that decision and had it written into law.
Which was the result of a compromise with Democrats and squishy Republicans who wanted to enforce pay-go rules (WTF happened to that). That hardly Places the responsibility on Bush for the expiration date. And it places the onus squarely upon the party that is now in charge when they decide to let them expire. Allowing the tax cuts to expire = tax increase. What party/administration is doing that?

But you know that.

No one tried to enforce paygo rules, JB, the whitehouse just wanted to limit the size of the fiscal hole they were digging.

By the pay-go rules which were based in static projections.

I might be overly sensitive but it seems you insult my intelligence on many occasions.
