He needs to collaborate with Peggy Noonan. He was flat. Everyone had such high expectations.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal was no doubt prepared for some harsh reaction from Democrats to his heavily partisan response Tuesday night to President Obama's address to a joint session of Congress.

They did. I did. Mine were really let down. Criminy, the first several minutes of his speech sounded like he was doing an Obama campaign rehash - I'm the son of immigrants, pulled myself up by the bootstraps, anyone can be president, blah, blah. Sorry, Bobby - get your own lines.

And, the tone of his presentation was as though he was talking to a kindergarten class. I found it cloying.

That's the first time I've heard or seen him speak. It just didn't jibe with everything I've read about him. Where'd all the charisma go?

I wish I'd seen it so I could comment. I've never seen him (or heard him) speak, either. I do think Laura Ingraham is a straight-shooter, so I'll take that to the bank. FWIW, I've always thought that getting equal time after a presidential address was always a loser. Even in the last two years of GWB's presidency, did the Dems ever come off looking good?

I have to admit, I didn't watch pass the first five minutes, but it sounded exactly like a campaign pitch. He might as well have said, vote for me in 2012.

That wasn't Bobby.

Oh, the words were his. He wrote his own speech, no Noonanesque touches in there.

But the vitality that is Bobby Jindal wasn't there. His normal speech pattern is somewhere in the area of a submachine gun. No bouncing off the walls, no jumping over the furniture.

Just wasn't Bobby...

I wanted to listen to Jindal, but couldn't watch after the first few minutes. I wanted his policy response to Obama, and all I got was a Jindal infomercial. *yawn*

Let's see, what's Jindal's heritage again?

Black? Nope.
Irish? Nope?
Italian? Nope?

Ah, yes, he's Indian!

So, how does Chris Matthews refer to the rebuttal?

Outsourced!

Get it? He's freakin' INDIAN, and the response was OUTSOURCED.

What a sense of humor!

I spend my professional life waiting for surgeons, either to show up or to finish their cases. I am patient, but not tolerant.
