HOLY CARP!!!
I went to the store this morning to pick up a few things for running. I wanted a light headband for cold weather, the kind that covers your ears. The ONLY options available were from Nike, with that stupid swoosh sign plastered prominently on each one.

Close to this rack I noticed a women's t-shirt with some snazzy colors and design, and "Your boyfriend likes my game" in big, obnoxious letters. WTF?? That's their latest pick for a bold, motivating workout statement? I can't stand Nike's marketing to begin with (and I don't think the quality of their products is all that great, either), but this just pissed me off. Workout clothing in general is pretty absurd, but I've noticed Nike in particular uses these stupid, self-absorbed, ego-advertising statements a lot.

Nike and Reebok are both dead to me. I never buy anything from either.

I'm an Adidas fan, simply because I have flat feet and their shoes are accommodating to that. Apart from that I go pretty cheap for workout clothes. I think my stuff came from Target.

Yeah, Adidas are tolerable.

And of course, Under Armour has good stuff. And LOTS of plain, great-fitting t-shirts.

I haven't seen that one, opti, but have noticed other really stupid t-shirts they've put out. If I see the 'swoosh', I don't look any further; I'm not interested in advertising their company on my bod.

I agree about adidas.

AYE! :thumb:

That stuff is amazing. Let's see, do I want to put on a long-sleeved t-shirt in addition to a sweatshirt jacket to go running in the blizzard, or do I want to just put on this ultra-thin sheen of magical material to keep me warm? Oh and you won't sweat with that stuff either.

Yeah, tough choice!

I've only ever tried their t'shirts, but they're all I wear anymore. I wore ratty t'shirts for many, many years of running, and in the past year or two decided to treat myself to something that actually fit me, did not have holes, and smelled fresh. They cost a bit more than I'd prefer to spend on a t'shirt, but they're totally worth it.

I love UnderArmour's stuff. All of it.

But I do like some of the Reebok stuff, too, and I'll wear Nike if the swoosh is not too obtrusive.

For sneakers, Brooks.

Just reminded me of a weird story.

I used to frequent this deli for lunch right by the place I used to work. One day when I was waiting for my order to come up, this guy in line asked me what my dimensions were. He explained that he was looking for people to do some viral marketing campaigns for his clothing company (well he didn't call it that but that's what it was.) Basically he said I'd get paid to just walk around at certain times of the day, wearing their stuff. I'm not sure of any other details because my food was ready then, so I laughed and told him that I'm not too keen on being a billboard.

Looking back on it, that was stupid. I should have tried to get the free money.

Hmmmm...I don't think they'd fit me that great.

I went to the store this morning to pick up a few things for running.

Some of the best running advice I've received was "Buy the $100 shoes".

In other words don't get cheap about shoes, maybe it's an old man thing but I really need the high-priced cushioning.

And for me Nike has never worked. I've tried their expensive shoes a couple times and consistently gotten blisters. I just don't have Nike feet.

I've used multiple New Balance, Brooks, and Mizuno models and been OK with each of them.

I'm not into Nike's marketing either or any over the top graphics.

There's a Nike women's short that is nice (small swoosh). That's all I have of theirs. Reebok makes great women's tops and Saucony great shoes.

Oh, it has nothing to do with age. Since I started running at the beginning of high school, I've had issues with my feet nonstop. I found out pretty much from the start that Saucony is the best brand for me. LOVE them. I've tried another brand here and there (once Nike -- they were awful; New Balance is good), but each time sworn never to not-buy Saucony again.

I recently splurged and bought a trail-specific shoe -- Salomon. They seem to be holding up well, though I feel like my feet are craving the better cushioning/support of Saucony.

+1 for Saucony!
They also have the widest toe box I've found.
