Some friends of ours have invited us over to their Superbowl Party. I admit, it would be fun watching the game with other fans and some fans of the other team, and I would like to go. OTOH, I've got a pretty good routine going for the Steeler games that is 3-0 since I started it. Involving my Jersey, seating, food, beer, etc... this routine has worked perfectly and the Steelers have advanced. I know some of you are going to say that the reason the Steelers won had nothing to do with my clothes, the Towels, food, etc... but instead was the result of the players own work, skill, coaching, etc... However, that thought flies into the face of everything I know regarding String Theory. So, do I go to the party, and risk ruining the season or should I stay home? |

If you go to the party, make sure you print out a stack of posts from TNCR - in case you get the munchies. |

Random FML: Today, I was fired by my boss in front of my coworkers. It would have been nice if I could have left the building before they started celebrating. FML The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D

You cannot observe the experiment without becoming a part of the experiment! Sensitive Dependence on Initial Conditions! Tread lightly, LD, for changing your routine may very well create a butterfly effect with lasting consequences. Aside from that I'd say have fun at the party. |

This is way more serious than you realize. Brenda got it right. Ask the wife what she wants to do and do it. If you do not follow this advise precisely as I've outlined, you run the serious risk of never again getting laid in your natural lifetime. After considerable and careful play by play analysis of last weeks championship games, I can say that no ritual you perform can save the Steelers in the SB. Look after your long term needs first and accept the inevitable.

Identifying narcissists isn't difficult. Just look for the person who is constantly fishing for compliments and admiration while breaking down over even the slightest bit of criticism. We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.

LD, I only tell the truth, and in terms all can understand. People think life is complex, but it really is not, unless it's the most complex question in life. |

I am NOT going to tell you that your routine does not matter. It most definitely does. Maybe just promise the team you'll stay focused on the game. At too many parties, people talk to each other and lose focus. The Steelers fans are the best in the country. |

It pains me to root for a western team, but I have to go with Kurt Warner here. Which will probably assure a Cardinals loss. I am the Kincaid of football. Teamkiller extraordinaire. |

what is this "Super Bowl" you refer to??? I seem to remember some ancient legends about such a game, but local anecdotal evidence fails to confirm this as more than a fantasy. |

If it was any other team than the Steelers, I honestly would. I like the Cardinals, and love their story this year.

I think you need to test your theory about your pattern. Go to the party -- if the Steelers win you will be happy that they won. If they lose, you will be happy that you have the juju. |

I think IT is trying to bait you, L'sD. However, my wife has got your back. She'll be wearing her Steeler helmet earrings and Steelers sweatshirt that have been reliable talismans this season. We will, of course, being attending the standard Super Bowl party that my sister-in-law and her husband have hosted for lo these many years. Big Al |
