I remember trying to take Excedrin for headaches, but all the caffeine did for me was make me have to deal with going to the bathroom (the diuretic effect of the caffeine) while having the pain of the headache.

I know lots of drugs just make you sleep, so that you don't have to deal with the pain. That's okay too.

Somehow, I stumbled on Coca Cola, and have to admit, there were times I drank a couple liters of it, and it helped whereas the over the counter headache stuff did/does not for me.

Oh Frank, I'm so sorry to read they came back. I was keeping my fingers crossed that you wouldn't get them anymore. Hang in there, my friend.

Thanks again. The only thing keeping me going right now, is believing that each day brings me closer to the end of this cycle. There's no way to put this into words... It's a pain unlike any other. It honestly just supercedes the written word. :( Thanks for the support and well wishes.

Are you able to maintain a small sense of humor?

Did you see the picture of you in Gaza that someone posted? That could give you a laugh if you haven't seen it.....

So sorry you are suffering my friend.

Add me to the chorus of prayers heading your way.

Have you tried pot? Cannabis is a very versatile drug.

I haven't seen it, Rosemary. Please post it. I could use a laugh.

Mark, I've tried pot. The one thing that pot does is intensify things. I would never want to try it for a cluster headache. That would just be horrific. There are clusterheads who have used psilocybin as a very weak tea and "dose" every couple of weeks, but it's not nearly the recreational, hallucinogenic dose. Apparently, it keeps them pain-free.

Hope you get a reprieve, soon. How long do the cycles last?
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.

Usually, 8 weeks. I was having shadows during the week before Thanksgiving, and then... nothing. I thought I would be able to slip it, this year. A few days after Christmas, I had a few definite hits but they weren't too bad, so it's hard to pin down exactly when the cycle began.

If I count from the end of December, then I won't be done with these damn things until the end of February. *sigh*

Frank, good to see you again. Very sorry to hear about the cluster headaches. :( Hang in there.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

Hope this passes soon for you, Frank.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

Thanks, RR and IT. They've been coming back since I was 27. I'll be 40, this year. Every year... (Except one, a couple years ago, when for whatever unknown reason, I didn't have a cycle at all.)

hey, Frank. I'm sorry to hear about the headaches. BTDT as we talked about. I think the only cure is the peace, beauty and calm serenity of a tropical island with only a handful of people to wait on you.

But, hey! I didn't know you have a blog? Can you send me a link? You can use my email or post it here. I'd love to take a look at your blog. It's gotta be more uplifting than mine!
