During the Inauguration, there was a big to-do presentation when Bill Clinton and Hilary Clinton came out. Why was that??

It wasn't done for Jimmy Carter and Roselyn Carter or George Bush Sr. and Barbara Bush when they came out.

They paid for the Gold Package.
As a good person, I implore you to do as I, a good person, do. Be good. Do NOT be bad. If you see bad, end bad. End it in yourself, and end it in others. By any means necessary, the good must conquer the bad. Good people know this. Do you know this? Are you good?

I am so adjective that I verb nouns!
I'd guess it was for Hillary since she's SecState and has a lot of supporters.

Yes, Hillary does have a lot of supportors, however, someone had to decide that she and Bill have a horn (or whatever it was) blown for them with a big announcement as they were presented.

I really felt that was bad making a production for them and the complete opposite for the other past presidents and their wives.

Sorry -- I didn't watch that part. I had thought you were talking about the crowds cheering or such, not an official trumpeting. I agree, bad call.

Yeah, from my vantage point (watching CNN's coverage but in a crowded pub) the only differential treatment I saw was from the crowds.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy

For those of us who struggle a bit with the whole Head of State/Political Leader combo that you chaps employ, maybe I need a bit of clarification to help me with comparisons I can understand.

1. Obama - roughly speaking, he's the Queen of England.
2. Michelle Obama - Duke of Edinburgh. IOW, job requirements - smile and wave - don't get photographed drunk.
3. Hillary Clinton - Power behind the throne - i.e. Stands in shadows, twirling moustache. British don't need one, as there's no power left.
4. Bill Clinton - Camilla Parker Bowles. Looks and acts like he just fell off a horse.

Any others?
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Eh... Except Camilla looks like she's actually related to the horse, but otherwise, that's quite an astute observation. (If not more than a little discomfiting...)
