HOLY CARP!!!
It's a horrible job, and Bush was vilified for doing it. I bet he's so happy to be going back to Texas.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

I've been trying to picture Obama with white hair. Every president goes gray during their service.

Yes, President Bush, thank you.

I didn't agree with a few of his policies, but I felt safe while he was president. And even though he was wrong about the WMDs in Iraq and certain folks think he lied, I don't think so. I trust him. We don't know what's been hidden from us and what went on and we probably won't know the truth in our lifetime.

In any case, he stayed true to his values and did his best to put the country first.

Thanks for leaving without trying to stage a coup.

Thanks for finally getting it through your thick skull to get rid of Rumsfeld and hire someone competent.

Thanks for nothing.

Thanks for making it possible for the first black President to be elected. I never thought I'd live to see it happen.

Goodbye and good luck and good riddance.

Gracious enough? I certainly hope so. I wouldn't want to seem ingracious.

The office will turn Obama white?

Guess that explains why he wanted it so bad.

I guess whatever people think of Mr. Bush's performance in office, I agree that he set a very high standard of conduct and graciousness over the weeks between the election and Mr. Obama's assuming office. I can't think of any president in recent memory who has done more.

While I haven't been a huge fan of his, at this point, the page has turned. Let him enjoy his private life.

Good point... Bush did very well in supporting the transition process.
