| It would be unwise to underestimate what large groups of ill-informed people acting together can achieve. -- John D'Oh, January 14, 2010. | |

HOLY CARP!!!

From what I heard of those interviews, I'd have to agree. Couric especially could have pressed Palin when she was flailing. |

If you can't cope with a few hard questions from Katie Couric.... Has anybody ever seen Jeremy Paxman of the BBC interview people? I'd have paid good money to watch that encounter - in much the same way that I'd have paid good money to see Mike Tyson fight Pee Wee Herman. |

I had to google him to see if it was who I thought.....and yes, I've seen him at work. Yeah, I would have bought tickets for that. I wonder how many repeat interviewees he gets. I had been looking forward to Sarah's interview with George Stroumboulopoulos; but he put aside his rapid fire banter and 20 questions schtick and treated her like some delicate creature from the short bus.

It's lines like this that remind me why I'm in love with you.

Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool. I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss! - Cecil Lewis | |
