For those that care, in late December I bought the new Blackberry Storm and really loved it. It's interface and graphics are as good as I've ever seen and there are a million positives to it. However, I'm returning it for 3 reasons: 1) The OS is still a big sluggish. Not bad, but for a quick user like me, it gets old quick. I could download a leaked OS upgrade but I'd rather not. 2) The screen has a flaw, around the edges there is a slight groove where dust can get in and once it's in, it's essentially impossible to remove...this is a design flaw and one that I can only see getting worse in the coming months, I'd rather not deal with it. 3) I miss the tactile keyboard. The touch screen keyboard (QWERTY when landscape) was cool, but it comes down to the fact that I just dont see anything replacing the value of the tactile QWERTY keyboard found on previous blackberry versions. It's faster to type and you can also type without looking, whereas on a touch screen you basically have to look the whole time. So I'm switching to the Blackberry Curve 8330, which I really love so far. It's light, very sturdy, great reviews, etc....so I think I made the right decision for me. Plus I saved like 150 bucks. Just an update! -->

I was considering the Curve, myself. The Pearl, according to the Verizon store, is what the teenagers use. They say grown-ups like the bigger Curve, but the kids buy the Pearl because it's styin'. Which says a lot about Mik. |

Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool. I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss! - Cecil Lewis | |
