HOLY CARP!!!

But I'm going to call a spade a spade. I think a few of you are being very selfish in dominating this forum with your rancor and vitriole. People are leaving. They always do. We've lost so many people. We're not gaining any new people, we just keep losing good people. Blondie (Katie) decided to go. I think that sux. And I think those of you who spit your venom, if you care about this community, should ease up a bit. Neither side won any friends in this latest debate. Both sides lost friends. Just my not so humble opinion. sorry to sound so righteous. but I think it sux that Blondie left. |

I understand your sentiment Peggy. I am really busy and I just have so little time that I decide to play piano or shovel the driveway instead of posting in topics here. I dislike the bickering and chips on shoulders. I missed the last round of flame wars but I think Blondie had some good things to say. Plus she was a good quilter... I'm sad to hear she left, hopefully she's out getting some exercise and having fun. |

Hey, how are you? You doing okay? I'm getting ready to sleep. It's been an eventful day. Read about it here: http://toosad4words.blogspot.com/2009/01/jane-kowalski-and-denise-amber-lee.html That and newspaper reporters calling. They're doing anniversary stories this week. The one reporter asked "when was the last time you cried?" I was like "today!" But only because whenever I hear Nathan have to speak about it, I cry. It's such a roller coaster. Good things that warm your heart and then the reminders of why the good things are occuring. anyhow, tomorrow AM, I'm going to look for a response to see how you are doing? Where are you working? What are you playing? etc....... I've missed you, Nak. |

I read the article. I'm glad the good samaritan is getting her recognition. It's frustrating, though, the people who noticed the struggle and did nothing. I could condone - or at least understand - that kind of apathetic, see-no-evil attitude in, say, New York, or some place where MYOB is learned as a way of life, but not south-west Florida. On a lighter note: I'm still working at the roofing company. They put me on a repair crew, which is much easier work, not to mention I now get paid to sleep in the van while we drive between jobs. But the hours aren't as reliabe, so it sort of evens it out.As for music, I'm taking lessons in improvisation from the guy who was my first teacher. Part of my plan to move into a career in music. I figure if I can learn to jam on a few standards, I can get a job playing at a restaurant or something. God it's hard, though. It's like I've been playing from a score for so long I have no capacity for spontaneous creativity. I'm beginning to think I just don't have the ability to improvise. Some of these days...that piano is damn evil.
