I hear if you pick that dead skin off and drink it with some boiling water and ginger root, it clears those things up right away!

Aqua, if this is your foot, WHAT HAPPENED??
^_^

It looks a ton worse than it is. I just started taking Wing Chun and for the past couple weeks, we've been working on footwork. Footwork is very important. Lots of shifting around on mats and bare feet. So, this sort of thing tends to happen when you overdo it somewhat. (You should see my right foot, as big as a couple silver dollars they are!)

I'm dressing them up though, and I'm taking it more easy so that the blisters heal. Just thought I'd share since SOMEbody egged me on and talked me into it kenny was kind enough to share his ailments. ^_^

And after you get them bandaged, you better have some milk and cookies.

Well thanks much mombrenda, I'll be sure to get some oreos in me before I get to sleep.

I haven't tried the egg coffee yet but I have found some good websites that give tips on how to do it correctly. I think I'm going to do my first attempt tomorrow night after I go to the store. The eggshells don't always settle, right? Is there a specific way to put them in to make sure they do or is it just luck?

Aqua, I like egg coffee, but usually hubby makes it. We used to have it with Hubby's grandma, and she made it with her porcelain pot. I don't recall putting the shell into the mix, just egg and coffee mixed together.

The website info should help. Here are two like the version grandma used:

Coffee for 25 persons:
1 pt ground coffee into which stir one egg. Put into thin cloth bag. Add enough water to boil. Boil 5 minutes, then add 1 gallon boiling water. Keep hot, but do not boil. Ready to serve in 15 minutes.

The "Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook" first edition, 8th printing, 1953 says:
"Boiled" Coffee
Actually there is no such thing as "boiled" coffee. Even though it is brought to boiling and simmered or steeped, coffee chemists advise not boiling it for even a minute.
Use 2 level tablespoons all-purpose grind to 1 standard measuring cup water. Eggs help to clarify; mix slightly beaten egg with dry coffee, using 1 teaspoon beaten egg to every 2 tablespoons coffee.
Place coffee in pot; add cold water; slowly bring to a boil, stirring occasonally. Immediately remove from heat; add 1/4 cup cold water to settle grounds; let stand in warm place 5 minutes. Strain into serving pot.
