Hamas in its own words; remember - they speak for palestinians

First, it needs to be pointed out that when "palestinians" talk about liberating palestine, they aren't talking about Gaza. That isn't palestine to them, or rather, it's only a tiny part of it. They mean Israel. When they talk about "occupied palestine", they aren't saying that Gaza is what's occupied - they consider Israel itself to be "palestine", and are saying that the existence of Israel is an occupation of their land. Some may not realize that..

"Hamas will continue the resistance until the last drop of blood."
(Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum, calling for a resumption of suicide attacks on Gaza radio, December 27, 2008)

(The economic crisis is the result of) "bad administrative and financial management and a bad banking system put into place and controlled by the Jewish lobby."

(The Jewish lobby) "controls the U.S. elections and defines the foreign policy of any new administration in a manner that allows it to retain control of the American government and economy."
(Hamas Spokesman Fawzi Barhum, October 7, 2008; as reported by AFP and other news agencies)

"...the Jewish faith does not wish for peace nor stability, since it is a faith that is based on murder: 'I kill, therefore I am'... Israel is based only on blood and murder in order to exist, and it will disappear, with Allah's will, through blood and Shahids [martyrs]."
(Dr. Yussuf Al-Sharafi, Hamas representative, April 12, 2007; as reported by Palestinian Media Watch, April 23, 2007)

"This is Islam, that was ahead of its time with regards to human rights in the treatment of prisoners, but our nation was tested by the cancerous lump, that is the Jews, in the heart of the Arab nation... Be certain that America is on its way to utter destruction, America is wallowing [in blood] today in Iraq and Afghanistan, America is defeated and Israel is defeated, and was defeated in Lebanon and Palestine... Make us victorious over the community of infidels... Allah, take the Jews and their allies, Allah, take the Americans and their allies... Allah, annihilate them completely and do not leave anyone of them."
(Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Bahar, acting Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, April 20, 2007; as reported by Palestinian Media Watch, April 23, 2007)

"[Hamas will] never recognize the legitimacy of the Zionist state that was founded on our land."
(Khaled Mashaal, Hamas leader, February 3, 2006, Al-Hayyat al-Jedida)

"[Hamas] will not change a single word in its covenant [which is calling for the destruction of Israel]."
(Mahmoud Zahar, Hamas leader, after casting his vote in the Gaza Strip, January 25, 2006, Ha'aretz)

"The constants and the strategy of Hamas do not change according to circumstances. Hamas will stay faithful to jihad, to resistance, to guns, to Palestine and to Jerusalem."
(Ismail Haniyah, Hamas leader, at an election rally in Gaza, January 20, 2006, Gulf Daily News, Bahrain)

"We are part of Allah's promise that Islam will enter Palestine and every home in the world, with a revelation of the power of Allah the Omnipotent, and a revelation of the inferiority of the infidels. Hamas is leading this plan in Gaza, the West Bank, and the 1948 territories, and the Muslim Brotherhood is leading it everywhere else. This is part of Allah's predestination."
(Dr. Mahmoud Zahar, interview in Arabic with elaph.com, October 11, 2005, MEMRI)

"She [first Hamas woman suicide bomber] is not going to be the last because the march of resistance will continue until the Islamic flag is raised, not only over the minarets of Jerusalem, but over the whole universe."
(Hamas leader, Mahmoud Zahar, at funeral of Reem Raiyshi, who murdered 4 people, January 15, 2004, AP)

"By God, we will not leave one Jew in Palestine. We will fight them with all the strength we have. This is our land, not the Jews..."

"You will have no security except outside the homeland Palestine.... We have Allah on our side, and we have the sons of the Arab and Islamic nation on our side."
(Abdel Aziz Rantisi, Hamas leader, June 10, 2003, interview with Al-Jazeera, Jerusalem Post)

"Before Israel dies, it must be humiliated and degraded. Allah willing, before they die, they will experience humiliation and degradation every day. America will be of no avail to them. Their generals will be of no avail to them. The last of their generals has been forgotten. Allah has made him disappear. He's over. Gone is that Sharon behind whose back they would hide and find shelter, and with whom they would feel relatively secure. Today they have frail leaders, who don't even know where our Lord placed them.

"Allah willing, we will make them lose their eyesight, we will make them lose their brains."
(Dr. Mahmud Al-Zahar, Hamas leader in Gaza, Washington Times, February 4, 2006)

"Today, you are fighting the army of Allah. You are fighting against peoples for whom death for the sake of Allah, and for the sake of honor and glory, is preferable to life....How can you possibly defeat us?"
(Khalid al-Mish'al, leader of Hamas, Al-Jazeera TV, February 3, 2006, from the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI)

I am so adjective that I verb nouns!
Will Obama speak for all Americans? Hamas is vile, but the Palestinians are not to be demonized. As you well know, the politics of power is often something quite different from the voice of the people, let alone their hearts.
The dogma lives loudly within me.

There's been a lot of that going on. Hearing people like Ann Coulter saying the Palestinians as a people have never contributed anything to the world is very disturbing to me. What is her motivation for saying this type of thing?
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Hamas is the government for the Palestinians. In matters of war and peace, I think a good case can be made for a government speaking for its people.

Here are some pictures taken of "palestinian" children putting on a play while at summer camp.

In this one, the little girl has "killed" a Jew at the Dome of the Rock, and is displaying the blood on her hands to show her "victory" over the evil Jews.

So the Democrats are speaking for America?

I realize "of the people, by the people and for the people" is an American invention, but it does have a certain universal application. Hamas is a party, not the government.

Larry: do you think the images of the Obama Youth goosestepping in uniform is representative of anything generally "American"?
The dogma lives loudly within me.

I am not sure the Palestinians "as a people" have contributed much, but neither have the Mozambiques. That is not a litmus test for authenticity or validity in my book.

What nice pictures. Have you ever seen these of Israeli children signing bombs? And their bombs are much, much more likely to kill someone than Hamas's homemade rockets. You can find propaganda BS on pretty much either side of a conflict as entrenched as this.

I will spare you the pictures of the alleged victims.

No, of course not. But then, in America we don't have classes on how to kill Republicans as a part of our grade school curriculum either. We don't have TV shows based on Mickey Mouse cartoon characters teaching our children that Republicans are the children of monkeys and pigs, and that they must be killed either.

And Kathy, If I lived in Israel where 42% of the children suffer post traumatic distress syndrome from having grown up living under the constant threat of rockets landing on me and my family, I'd let my kids sign one of the bombs that was going to help stop it also.

Did you hear that yet another kindgergarten was hit by rockets today, Kathy?

What do you have to say about the fact that when "palestinians" talk about "liberating palestine" they are talking not about gaza but about Israel itself, Kathy?

Take another big swig of the Koolaid Kathy, then go see if you can wash the blood off your hands.
