There are differing opinions on the conclusions of the recent Armed Services Committee Report: http://article.nationalreview.com/print/?q=NDZkNjZhMGJhMTcwODMzZDUzZWViZTYxZWNhN2Q5ZjI= |

"Any man who would make an X rated movie should be forced to take his daughter to see it". - John Wayne There is a line we cross when we go from "I will believe it when I see it" to "I will see it when I believe it". Do you think that Bush would issue any sort of blanket pardons to his administration? Has any president ever done so? This seems to be nothing more than the effluent of Latt's hyperactive imagination. I would be surprised (but not disappointed) if Bush did "pardon" Cheney against future prosecution -- every bit as surprised as if Obama had the temerity to actually try to prosecute Cheney. As much as the Left is salivating at the prospect, I think Obama is far shrewder than that. |

As much as it pains me to say, I agree with both of those points. I doubt Bush will pardon Cheney. I doubt anyone in the Bush Administration will be prosecuted as a war criminal. As I said a couple of days ago, they all acted on advice of counsel (BS advice, but advice nonetheless), which should be a fairly effective shield. |
