Finally

Been there, done that. When we bought our place in Cheddarland, I owned a 1989 Honda Prelude. Great little car. But, it didn't do ice/snow/hills well. One winter, I drove up here to find our private little road had been iced over with a thin coat of snow on top. So, I drove down the hill that Friday afternoon, and parked in the driveway. A couple hours later, thought I'd drive to town to buy food for dinner. Went up the hill, about halfway, and then back down - sideways. There's little that can cause you have a helpless felling more than going sideways in your car, albeit slowly. I spent the night in the house, ate canned chili. The next morning there was a thaw, and I was able to get out. All wheel drive after that winter. |

Kenny is really warming up to this winter stuff. Have you practiced your winter driving yet, Kenny? |

Glad to hear it, Kenny. That's the best way to learn. Of course, it seems like my hubby likes to 'practice' every winter, especially during those first snowfalls. What is it with men and snowy roads? My dad was the same way. And of course he pretends we're sliding around by accident, not on purpose. Uh huh. Not buyin' it. But you, Kenny, are not going to do that, are you? Oh, no, you are the picture of maturity and not susceptible to the beguiling ways of the snow. Right? |

HOLY CARP!!!

This reminds me. . . The Piano shop at UWO is right next to a steep hill. There is no sidewalk between the hill and our building, only grass, but students who want to take a shortcut walk right next to our building. When it rains/snows it gets VERY muddy so they try to walk up on clean snow up on the slope. The slope is so steep that they struggle to keep their balance, stepping slowly with both arms extended. Fortunately for us there are 4 windows to watch our victims. Someone in the class will yell out, "SLIDER!" and we all run to the windows to watch hoping our next victim will slide down into the mud, or better yet slide into the mud AND smash against out building. We laugh so loudly that the poor slider can hear us. We are so bad. |

It is nice to be a student again. ![]() Something about being in class again makes you lose all your class. (call me when you have no class.) Sometimes I feel like I'm living in that movie, "Animal House". |
