Palin Thank You; Beginning of 2012 Campaign?

KOVR TV ran a piece on Sarah Palin and the "thank you" ad Republicans are putting together. I knew Quirt would be interested.

http://www.cbs13.com/video/?id=42487@kovr.dayport.com

There seems to be an underlying feeling that Palin will be a big player in 2012. It's kind of strange to see someone whose main claim to fame is being brutally attacked with falsehoods and irrelevancies actually becoming a major contender for the 2012 GOP nomination and maybe the successor to Obama. The fact that the attacks on Palin are continuing long past the end of the election show that she is perceived as more than the VP candidate on a losing ticket. So Quirt may be right and Palin may be back but it seems that continuing the attacks simply strengthens her as a political figure.

Well, if she's going to stick around, I hope she'll use this campaign as evidence for why she needs to smarten up some, politically.

i don't care for personality as qualification.. it's interesting how the ability to campaign supercedes ability often.

Palin, I'm sure has a bright future awaiting her in any arena, not necessarily the political one.

Unlike Palin, we'll find out soon enough.

Obama in my opinion is the perfect storm of many abilities. He was indeed a brilliant campaigner... but he is gifted and learned across the spectrum.

It's unfair to compare Palin and Obama except perhaps in their galvanizing qualities.

HOLY CARP!!!
If the GOP puts Palin up as Candidate in 2012 they will loose.

The current leadership of the GOP is just stupid enough to do so too.

Idiots.

And he's accomplished exactly jack squat, other than getting elected.

Oh, but we have "hope" and "change".

I'd like things go well for the country during his term, but I have my doubts that will happen. I hope I'm proven wrong.

That's because he's not even the president yet?

Usually we like for someone to have accomplished something before we elect them President.

He's accomplished plenty, it's just that you're not impressed with his accomplishments. Is being a U.S. Senator not an accomplishment?

What did he accomplish as a senator?

Not necessarily that he's going to be a bad president, but he's easily the least qualified incoming president I've seen in my lifetime.

He did diddly squat as US Senator.

Obama only got that seat because his opponent died or had to withdraw, I forget which, and all the GOP put up in response was Alan Keyes at the last moment.

He is certainly unparalleled at opportunism. Now let us hope he has other skills as well.

You guys are having a hard time differentiating between doing "anything", and doing something you feel is noteworthy. He worked a lot on immigration reform, and some random crap with WMDs and other stuff.

I don't think his history in the Senate is impressive at all, but I'm at least willing to admit that he does indeed have one.

So, am I right in thinking that our best-case scenario is you get Obama for eight years who does nothing, followed by either Sarah Palin or possibly The Next Big Thing (maybe the Bush daughters?) who also does nothing for eight years. With sixteen years of Presidential doing nothing, America should be pretty much back on track to top nation-hood.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

Whether the GOP wins or loses in 2012 is probably completely up to Obama. If he does a good job he will be re-elected no matter who the GOP puts up against him. If he fails as president then th GOP will win with just about anybody. Look what happened in this election - the GOP lost because of what happened during the Bush administration. The ball is in Obama's court (not the Democratic Party's court - they are his worst enemy now) and the game is his to win - or lose.

Most of the attacks on Palin are coming from Republicans and Conservatives. I think Dems would love her to have her be the nominee in 2012 or any time.

She will never win the election.
