It would be unwise to underestimate what large groups of ill-informed people acting together can achieve. -- John D'Oh, January 14, 2010.

I'm glad you are up on the correct spelling.

I'll be surprised if this one doesn't go to court. We'll see.

Of course it will. There's a better-than-even chance that Coleman will lose, and he's hyper-litigious.

(I really, really shouldn't....but I will)

I find the silence of those who objected to Guiliani's candidacy because he put on a dress for a benefit and a comedy show yet don't see the same issues when it comes to Stuart Smalley Al Franken more than a bit ironic.

Judge the man on his views and politics, not on what he wore on a comedy show, or at a benefit.

And if Franken can't find enough votes, he'll take it to court for some reason.

You lawyers win either way. :lol2:

Quirt, get over here and make some $$$$$$$ to pay for your attic project. Don't miss this opportunity. I hear both sides are getting all 'lawyered up' already.

To whom are you referring?

Yeah, I was wondering that, too.

As for me, I never said that Giuliani's drag performance was a reason to object to his candidacy. It was silly, but he's fairly socially liberal, so it wasn't a big deal to me.

Now, the fact that he's as nasty as a mean snake ... that's more of a problem.

Jack.
If I commented on it at all, it was in the context of poking fun. I do not think I ever suggested he was unfit to be Presdient because he wore a dress. Perhaps you remember something I have forgotten.

As to Franken, I really have no idea who he is other than he used to be a comedian of some kind. My first and last thought on his campaign was: more of the same from the state who elected Jesse Ventura. And that may be selling Franken short, but I really have not paid any attention to this.

So George, do tell what you think I said???

Wow, there's a securities market for everything these days.

Yes, turns out there wasn't a lot of demand for this:

I certainly hope they don't make this mistake. The people of MN deserve better. Enough with the joke politicians already. :veryangry:

Thanks, Brenda. MN will always be "home" to me -- even after having lived here in NYS for almost 17 years. When my company here finally croaks, that would probably be as good a time as ever to fold up the tent and move on.

The people of MN tend to have pretty good common sense, with a couple of big exceptions. I really hope it turns out for the best this time.

Damn lack of a search function....

However, there are two comments that stick out in my mind:

1) I commented that I had a hard time remembering how to spell his name. You responded with a mnemonic that mentioned his dressing in drag.

2) You remarked that you could never vote for a man that didn't take himself seriously, and followed it with a picture of Guiliani in a dress.

If I'm wrong, or misremembering, let me know.

Definitely not me.

If I ever posted that photo, it would have been a joke. I am positive I never posted the mnemonic.
