Want to roll your eyes over this one, Dewey?

Brand new black church burned to the ground morning after election
I'll be happy to roll mine.
:rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2:

From the article:
Quote:

Investigators say the cause was arson, but so far they have no suspects or evidence that the crime was rooted in racism.

Now....remember all the ballyhoo about burning black churches during the Clinton Administration? Ever wonder why that stuff kinda died out?

It died because the story didn't have legs...sure there were some churches burned by whites..and a lot of the churches were burned by blacks. And they were burned for lots of different reasons, everything from racial hatred to insurance schemes, with a touch or two of church-on-church jealousy.

You picked a lousy story to try to prove your point.

Go lick your calf over again...

Honestly, it makes me wonder which of you are secretly hoping it will happen.

Racist E-Mails Sent

Quote:

The FBI in New Orleans said Dyron Hart, 19, was arrested Wednesday. He is accused of sending the messages by way of the students' Facebook accounts. The messages contained racial epithets and death threats and were sent to two black women and a black man at Nicholls State in Thibodaux, La.

The author of those messages cast himself as a white man who intended to kill blacks because Barack Obama was elected president.

Hart told an FBI agent that he sent the messages to "get a reaction," according to the agent's sworn statement.

The criminal complaint was filed in U.S. District Court in New Orleans. U.S. Attorney Jim Letten's office said Hart made his initial court appearance in Biloxi. It was unclear when he would be brought to New Orleans.

Although the case sprang from a probe into messages sent to the three Nicholls State students, the FBI agent's statement said Hart also admitted sending the message to students at other institutions, including LSU, the University of Mississippi and the University of Alabama.

An FBI news release said Hart, if convicted, would face a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

Repeatedly using an obscenity and the N-word, the author of the message threatens to kill more than 3,000 black people in a month because of Obama's election and warns the recipient of a pending attack from "a random white man," according to the agent's affidavit.

Hart is black.

As long as he listens to the Secret Service, he'll be OK. They are going to be ultra-protective like they've never been before. They know the risks. It's only if he tries to ignore or overrule them that we'll get into trouble. Just let them do their jobs, and don't worry about the public relations aspects of the security.

I'll say this in advance, though ... if any of you try to use the security measures that the Secret Service will necessarily employ to score political points, you're pretty sorry excuses for human beings.

C'mon George, get with it. You know that sort of stuff doesn't fit with 'the program.' Please stop tying to make really simple ideas more complex. This is too hard on angry people. Just keep with the straightforward narrative about race hate. It's so much more comfortable for angry people to live with.

The fact that you posted this makes you a pretty sorry excuse for a human being.

Notice that the lefties here are the ones tossing out insults - and they're doing it based on things that have not happened yet. Now that's hate.

Ah, right. Because I insulted you if you do something, which you haven't done yet, that makes me a sorry excuse for a human being.

It's one thing to not be liked for speaking uncomfortable truth. It's another thing to not be liked for speaking nonsense and smearing the character of everyone around you with untrue insults. It's yet a third thing to be able to discern the difference, or that there's actually any difference at all, between the first two.
There is a barrage of news reports of threats against Obama. Dozens of incidents have been reported since his election. The FBI is saying that the number and level of threats is unprecedented, yet only person of conservative persuasion who has commented here has shown any level of concern whatsoever, never mind all the of the fun that has been made of the situation. Just one person here expressed concern! I'm sorry - but that *is* disgusting, and I am afraid, endemic of the underlying problem.

Yes, this is an uncomfortable truth, Dewey, and if I were so off base about it, perhaps more people would speak up as Lindy did to show me how wrong I am.

The insult, kathy, is that you think so little of the conservatives here that you think they/we have to make a public statement denouncing racism and their desire that the President-elect of the U.S. would not be assassinated. The "uncomfortable truth" here is that you hold us - most of which you've known for years - in such contempt from the initial assumption. Frankly, despite my own opinions, you can turn into a pile of dried bones waiting for my personal statement, a la the statements required to get out of a Vietnamese "re-education" camp; based simply on the underlying insult that such a statement would even be necessary. To respond to your ridiculous, insulting expectation would only serve to give it even a shred of merit, which is far more than it's actually due. Now, maybe you get the picture why conservatives aren't falling all over themselves to respond to your stupidity, in order to gain some level of acceptance from you. Thanks, but no thanks.

You are drawing conclusions without anything to support them, Kathy. No one here is unconcerned about threats like this. That isn't the issue we're having with you. It was your "if anything happens to him I will hold you responsible/you will have his blood on your hands" crap that we're reacting to. That was stupid, it was insulting, and it was disgusting.

Thanks, JB. I was hoping somebody noticed that.

Kathy, I was trying to be diplomatic and polite in my response to the questions at hand.

I would say the same thing about threats of violence against ANY president. Period.

Racism stinks and I quite believe that everyone on this board is on board with that.

The left has hurt itself this year on the issue of racism and it becomes more difficult to listen to them at all on the issue. Let me tell you why.... Because they raised the racism flag at every opportunity to demean or question those that dared to challenge Obama. (As if there wasn't anything to question!) I myself, have been accused of being a racist, by people I trusted, because I wouldn't blindly get on board, and because I use "code" words like 'untrustworthy'. ! Go figure. Just about anyone who innocently said something that could -- by some stretch -- be considered racist, was labelled a racist. The Clintons are racists.

I find it harder and harder to trust the left these days. Maybe it's just my age, but I don't think so. If the right were a bit more socially liberal, I'd be on board in an instant. Small government, social liberty. That's for me.

I agree with you, Bernard. I don't know what kind of president Obama will be. I hope he does well and makes wise decisions for the country. But his supporters are a very scary bunch. A lot scarier than couple thousand rabid, unorganized racists.

Bernard,

I think there is a very sizable portion of the US population what would get on board if there was a political party that was more 'liberal' in the 19th century use of the word, but which was not as extreme as modern libertarians.

If someone like Michael Bloomberg would choose to use his personal wealth to fund such a party the benefit to the US as a whole could be immense. Certainly more so (in my view) than bequeathing it to yet another charity foundation. Starting a new party is very difficult to do organically, i.e. rising slowly from the bottom up, from one county supervisor seat all the way to the presidency. There are certain big barriers to new party formation that could go down only with a very large initial funding. You have to start big in order to generate the sense of viability that could draw people away from established parties. Otherwise the 'wasting your vote' argument is too easy to make.
