I reserved a business class seat on a train from Richmond to NYC and back two weeks ago. I paid for the ticket and received a confirmation email from them listing the trains I booked. Today I get an email listing a different departure time for the Richmond to NYC leg...instead of leaving at 8 a.m. they list it as leaving on the 6 a.m. train. So I go to thewebsite and check -- the later train is not sold out. WTF? Why did they change me to an earlier train? There is no way I'm going anywhere at 6 a.m. if I don't have to. I guess I have to phone someone now and complain? Thanks for letting me vent. |

Beware going further than one stop on Amtrak. My brother and family tried to take it across the country and it was a nightmare of missed connections, unplanned overnight, busses as much as trains and being caught in the crossfire of gang gunfight in San Antonio. |

What time do you get out of bed to catch a 6 AM train? That's pretty outrageous. |

The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |
