The Confederate soldier was peculiar in that he was ever ready to fight, but never ready to submit to the routine duty and discipline of the camp or the march. The soldiers were determined to be soldiers after their own notions, and do their duty, for the love of it, as they thought best. Carlton McCarthy | |

Kathy, I'd like to thank you for that. I thank you, because this time it has only taken you 3 days to show us what a despicable woman you are, and to once again show why I cannot stand you. I've scraped better sh!t than you off my shoe. |

Larry, you've posted much worse stuff about Obama. I'm not complaining about it, but let's not have a double standard. |

I have posted about Obama's views. I have NOT ridiculed him as a person. And if he wasn't able to raise his arms because he had been hogtied for 5 years in a prison and beaten like a dog, I would NOT ridicule him for it. This is the kind of tasteless, tacky sh!t that Kathy is known for. The only reason she's even posting here is so she can do sh!t like this. The woman is a despicable excuse for a human. |

No KK, it won't be his Dean Scream or Dukakis in a Tank or Kerry in a Bunny Suit moment. I understand why the rabid leftists want to make it such considering how your idiotic candidates' actions lost them elections, but all that clip shows is a happy, supportive and exuberant candidate (who had been regularly beaten while a POW) giving mad props to his Veep selection. |

Excuse me. I must have momentarily lost my senses. I forgot that we're not allowed to make fun of McCain because he was a POW. C'mon, IT, where'd you lose your funny bone. I was able to laugh at Dean's scream, in spite of the gazillion remixes and the fact that it was played to death by "rabid right." |

I suppose different people find different things funny. For instance I don't laugh at people who slur due to cerebral palsy, though some leftists seem to think that someone who moves awkwardly due to torture and gushes a bit when saying "hehe" due to facial surgery is fair game, and you seem to think that is funny. Regardless, none of that is comparable to your boy Dukakis in a tank or

Gimme a break. Comparing laughing at someone with CP to laughing at his his goofy, dirty old man laugh (which I would forward has nothing to do with his POW years) is simply ridiculous. But, hey, keep pulling the POW card - seems that's about all he has going for him these days. Hey, Ben. You used to liberal champion of the younger set over at OCR. What happened? |

![]() The leftist who you linked to was mocking McCain based on both the way he talked and the way he moved. The reference to a penguin -- waddling, truncated arm movement -- is due to injuries sustained in the war. The loss of facial control is due to surgery. You obviously think it if funny that people who have had facial surgery are open to derision, and would call it a "dirty old man laugh". That is pretty crass, Kathy -- but if you don't see it I don't suppose Jack would be able to explain it to you either. Do you laugh at people with Down Syndrome as well? What about muscular dystrophy -- they are probably no end of amusement for you. |

The Penguin reference used by the guy at Youngturk.com was aimed solely at his ridiculous laugh. The 2nd video with the actual Batman footage popped up on Youtube as related videos do. I found it hilarious just to see this waddling thing with McCain's voice over. It didn't even occur to me that the bodily movements were in any way similar to McCain's. Are they? Oh, yes, IT, you've got me pegged all right. I regularly laugh at people with Down's syndrome and with CP. I especially find dying cancer victims entertaining. Your habit of demonizing people when you don't like the substance their posts is truly tiresome. My advice to you: Get a sense of humor and stop taking yourself so seriously.

I was a Hillary fan then I turned independent when Obama got nominated. I think I'm fairly moderate, although there are probably some who would disagree. Getting away from the Democratic party gave me a new perspective on things and now both parties look pretty equally abhorrent. I'll be registering as an Independent next summer when I turn 18 in all likelihood. I'm no diehard conservative and I'm no diehard liberal supporting McCain this time around probably makes me seem conservative to a lot of people here but really I see him as the (much) lesser of two evils. There are some issues I would rather take Obama's stance on but not most of them. So maybe that explains what you were asking?

Oh BS, Kathy. Apple made that nice comment about how smart you are, and now you are claiming to miss this when the title of the video was "John McCain is an Awkward Penguin"??? GMAB.
If your post had any substance beyond derision of a person with physical limitations I would not attack the sick humor behind it, nor you for finding humor in it. As it is, I have no idea what you find funny, since your idea of humor preys on McCain's physical disabilities. |

Q: What do you get when you cross Obama with an octopus? A: An 8-row cotten-picker Q: Why did God give flies wings?? A: To beat Obama and the rest of the niggers to the trash cans. Yep, funny as Hell...not. I'm sorry, but I'm just not overly fond of making fun of people who are capable of more than I'll ever be...what's the old saw? Big people talk about ideas, average people talk about things and little people talk about other people?... |

Well, I think that's my (and everyone's) responsibility - to put thought into things. I have a friend who's an absolute genius and is decidedly conservative. He supported Fred Thompson in the GOP primaries, etc. As you might imagine, most of the kids in my high school are Obama fans and lean liberal, and plenty of them are intelligent people. I guess it all balances out

You know what, IT? You've have now reinforced what I already knew. It's hopeless discussing anything you don't agree with, because it always degenerates into your ad hominem attacks. It's just not worth the aggravation. You're right. You always were you always are. So, sorry I brought it up. Jolly, Laughing at McCain's laugh doesn't even begin to compare to the baseness of your jokes which are are racist and disgusting and represent the sort of latent racism that still dogs good slice of our population. I would hope your not amongst that group. Nothing like beating a joke until it's dead. Guess, I should have known better than to post it here. |

Well, Kathy, why don't you try having a civil conversation that is not mocking a person with disabilities before deciding that we can't discuss something I disagree with. It pretty much works for everyone else here. |
