Finally
|
I drove up to Cheeseland® yesterday morning, and in the car, I had the two dogs (Oliver and May) and Sidney the macaw. Mrs. George followed a couple of hours later with the two parakeets (Pebbles and Bam-Bam) and two guinea pigs (Harley and Pancake). Now, in fairness to me, the pigs and 'keets were deserted at our home by daughter #3 when she went to college, but I realized, I have SEVEN animals in my home! How many do you have? Fish, Ex (or current) Wives, Teenagers and Children do not count. |

Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool. I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss! - Cecil Lewis

Two cats One dog that only comes in occasionally My daughter qualifies as an animal, sometimes. I used to have a king snake and a whole mess of fish in an aquarium, but both got to be a huge pain in the ass, so I quit. Three animals. (Plus, whatever "catch & release" critters that Winston brings in...

Identifying narcissists isn't difficult. Just look for the person who is constantly fishing for compliments and admiration while breaking down over even the slightest bit of criticism. We have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences.

two cats we do have a fish tank....one of the great entertainments of the day is watching the stupid black cat jump at the fish and smash in to the aquarium glass. I worried she'd break it for a while, but she's been doing it on a daily basis for about five years and nothing has ever happened, so I stopped trying to make her stop. |

We're down to one cat. Other kitteh is under the cherry tree, assorted goldfish in the corner of the garden. Oh, and I do believe we have a rat. And there's a stupid squirrel that likes to climb up the side of our house. The cat likes to nap on the front deck and watch. |
