I have never really travelled outside the US. I really want to get out and see some other places.

Is there a aspect to your life you wish was different?

HOLY CARP!!!
Kara and I would love to have children.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

I say never really becasue I have been to Montreal a handful lof times when I lived in Northern Vermont....and that's like a 2 hour drive.

I yearn for different cultures...new vistas...even different stars at night.

I've pretty much gone everywhere I've wanted to go and done everything I've wanted to do. The last two things on "The List," are skydiving and hang gliding. Once I've done those two things, I can't think of anything else left, really. I'll be ready to settle down a little, after that. Maybe.

I want someone to come home to every day. The past 5 weeks have been nice, being at Soak's.

Travel. A lot.

I would start saving up now for a trip when your son is 3 or so.

Is Kara your wife? Sorry...I haven't been around here long enough to know everybody. Also because having children is a topic that can become emotional I totally understand if you do not want to discuss.

As a new father I can say it's been quite a eye-opener and I cannot imagine life without Zack...I love him so much.

Kara is my wife. (I still get a kick out of saying that!) We were married in February. She's in nursing school as well as working as a surgical tech, so we're not quite ready for kids. But we'd like a bunch... at least four. Your experience with Zack is what I'm looking forward to.

Wow! Newlyweds!

Congrats...a little late.

I am old for a new dad...41 yrs. I do not think I will be having a bunch...1 more if I'm lucky.

So maybe in a few years when both of you are more solid in your careers you'll start a family. Cool.

I don't think I've reached my professional peak yet.

I took time off / scaled back to have kids (also very important to me).

I'm still feeling my way around. I worry that I may never find it.

Kids are (mostly) cool, but they suck the life out of you. There's a reason that we stop being fertile in our 40's. The physical toll of a newborn, toddler, and the emotional toll of a teenager is too much for us senior citizens.

I'm 58, and the thought of going through drivers ed, dating, diapers, childproofing, babysitting at my age scares the carp out of me.

Remember, it's the journey that counts, not the destination.

(Figured I'd say it before Aqua did! )

There are no peaks, only plateaus. Don't stay on them too long, or you'll stagnate.

I hope you never reach your professional peak, R2. Keep climbin'.

My biological Dad is 71 and has a 19 year old son (my half-brother). He is still hanging in there quite strong and is set to work at the USPS as a mechanic for another three years and then retire.
