Well, not so much out of business as we are closing the store. You might have heard me mention a couple of months ago that my boss wanted to do something completely insane? Well, this is it. This is the only store that has consistantly made good numbers for him, and from May 24th-June 30th, we set a record. Not just a record for that month, but any month period. Unfortunately, though, the lease is up at the store we are at, and we're locked into three more years at another location a little further out. Otherwise we would have closed that other spot. But we couldn't get out of it and couldn't find anybody to sublet. So, for the next month we're having a store closing sale and next month I take over the other store. The other store will do well, and over ten to fifteen years has more potential for growth, but over the next five years the town I'm in now should do much better. Oh well, it's all washing out in the end for me. But, if anybody's looking for a good piano  .

Just kidding. :P

Best of luck with the store closing sale. :thumb:

I would ask you to post a link so that who are interested can take advantage of the sales event. But then you may not want us to know where you work. ;) :D

Out of curiosity, what kinds of pianos are we talking about?

LD - is it just pianos or do you sell other instruments? I'll give you $500 for a Selmer Super 80 sax if you twist my arm.
What do you mean "we", have you got a mouse in your pocket?

What does this mean for you, personally, LD? Good news, bad news, neither?

If you have a good concert bench that you need to get rid of, I'd be interested. I'm still sitting on a shelacked black bench with a yoga blanket folded on top for height. ^_^

Might be a good idea to give us a list of whatcha got. Don't have to include prices. We can inquire if interested.

That's not really my thing. I'm not on here to solicit business. If anybody from the board came in to buy a piano, Y'all would take advantage of me and my friendship. that would be suitable for one or two of you. I'd gladly help 89th get out of that ratty old spinet for instance. Otherwise though, this is my nonwork place. I just posted this to give you guys an update on what's up with my life, and why I've not been on the board lately.

I will say, however, we do carry Yamaha and Kohler & Campbell new. Used, you name it.

I can name that piano in 47 notes.

Actually, probably not.

It's good and bad, both. I'm picking up more outside promotions (good), I'm moving into one of the fastest growing towns and wealthiest towns in the US (good), My overhead's getting higher (bad), and it's not an already established location (bad). It's also not as convenient a location for Northern Virginia. A big part of this is going to depend on marketing the new location, and whether people are willing to travel the extra 20-30 minutes to get to the store.

Do you carry the super-high end Yamahas? You know, the ones made in Vienna? ;)
