I'll place it all in God's hands, and keep my focus on the things that I can make a difference in.

Hey, I dont take work detail from you, pal.

You'd better. Reverend Dewey kicks ass!!!

Actually, Dewey presumes to know an awful lot about the inner workings of my mind, my intents, my wishes, my judgements. He's way off on most of it, and he's on very thin ice with me. Arrogance of that sort does not amuse me.

This thread went to ugly long ago. Let's not blame a sock for continuing the path it was already miles down.

You may or may not like or appreciate what David has said here and are certainly free to say so, but the repetetive jeering without further comment from him is over the top, IMO.

I guess that means he had nothing to say in the first place.

To the contrary, he said what he had to say. Then he shut up. Would that others would do so at times.. :lol2:

If everyone did that the board would be a pretty quiet place run by a conservative cabal of like-minded right-wingers seeking domination of the internetty-web thingy, which, I suspect, is precisely what you want, young Mik.

It's the idiots like me that keep this place what it is!

You have no principled basis to distinguish between socks.

You just don't complain about some socks because they belong to friends of yours.

If you don't like socks, call for them to be banned. But don't pick and choose based on whether you like what they say or not. I don't see you calling for the banning of socks that make fun of Obama or left-leaning posters.

Once again you contradict yourself, Quirt.

Deciding on socks based on whether they belong to friends or whether or not you like what they say is a principled decision.

Considering that the opening post ... now deleted ... started with a few shots at me, I don't think you can attribute the moral high road to him.

Apparently, you and I have different definitions of the word "principle". Which is hardly surprising to me, since I don't find your so-called "principles" to be principles at all.

To me, a principle is a fundamental basis for action that can be understood and applied in a common fashion by others.

For example, "Except in cases of self-defense, it is wrong for one man to kill another" is a principle that can be understood and applied by the general population.

"Socks of Jolly's friends are good; socks that attack Jolly's friends are bad" isn't a principle, no matter how you attempt to twist the language to make it fit.

The personal attacks against Quirt were uncalled for, and diminished the credibility of the whole message (whatever cred might be applied).

Diminished? I'd say totally undermined any and all credibility.

Although I did partially agree with the statement that Bin Laden was a CIA asset- almost certainly he was considered such so long as he was fighting Soviet occupation forces in Afghanistan during the 80's.

It does not surprise me that you mistake a conclusion for a principle.

It also does not surprise me that you are entirely humorless.

(whatever cred might be applied) was the catch all. I don't think many here would give it any credibility regardless of the personal attack, but even for those who might it did diminish it....
