On IT's and MS's recommendation, Kara and I went to Stella Pastry on our first evening in San Francisco.

Posted Image

I was only in the mood for a coffee when I took this pic (we had just had a huge seafood dinner in Chinatown), but Kara just had to try the Ovali pastry that MS is crazy about, as well as a cannoli. The cannoli was okay (I've had better in Boston :P ), but the Ovali was magnificent, and we ended up going to Stella every day thereafter (sometimes more than once!).

Glad you got to go! Unfortunately it was closed when we were up on Columbus last trip. :(

The dogma lives loudly within me.

Unfortunately, they don't switch to a 24 hours a day open time when I'm in town. ^_^
Still, a very nice dinner down the street at Steps of Rome.

and i would like to say that i read the whole thing again this evening, slowly, savoring all the pearls...and i defend his right to spew forth this vomitus.

With the Barge gone –as many of them will be dead and their vast stolen wealth confiscated- there will be far fewer wars, the need for a military machine on the scale we have now will be unsustainable, and of course there will be many more institutional changes.

Certain cliques of snobbish professional people who have always had the effrontery to consider themselves higher and mightier while regarding the rest of us as “the masses,” “human cattle,” etc. will have their own **** rubbed in their faces and probably half of them will starve to death because they can’t or wont adjust to new realities.

I wonder what will happen when the world finally wakes up?

Will we string up most of the fat cats on Wall Street?

Will we hunt down and kill most of the chiseling, swindling lawyers and corrupt magistrates who have sucked on the rest of us like parasites for far too long?

Quote:

But I do know this, when economic difficulties suddenly result in pulling the hopes and dreams out from under millions of people, when they have worked most of their lives for them, there will be hell to pay.

i try to imagine a hand that can pen these words and it fails me.

truly a cursed soul.

God have mercy on you.

bach,

The question is (since I'm late to the "party" and David's deleted his posts):

Does Barge = Jews?

(According to David's deleted posts).

Otherwise, what was this about? Nothing as far as I can tell.

David's said things against gays yes I know that hardly makes him unique. I'm curious what he did this time if anything

Is there any there there? Is someone going to fill me in? Or just keep saying "we're too drunk to remember."

This is one of the funniest threads I ever read.

In a Dadaism kind of way.

I'm so glad this board has a flood control, otherwise Daniel would have made this thread 200 pages long already.

Daniel, don't you see that you are looking more ridiculous with every post you make here? Stop whining and don't turn every thread you participate in in a f*cking discussion about homosexuality. I really couldn't care less what you do with your private parts, and I think most other posters you attack here feel the same. You are boring us to death with your "perpetually-offended-gay" obsession.

Feel free to be offended by this post, too, and please reply accordingly.

There is an anti-gay slur hiding in this post. 50 Points if you can find it!

I'm not offended. I think it's sad that someone would be the ignorant piece of work that you are. I'm not the one who started attacking me (duh). And according to your post, there were no insults about my sexuality (duh).

Here's a suggestion- if you (collective you) don't want to talk about homosexuality, then stop bringing it up (duh).

I didn't even mention my sexuality until I had posted here for a year. I'm not the one who made a big deal of it. You weren't here. You have no idea what you are talking about.

You dared me once to accuse you of having "pervert sex." You are blind to what you don't want to see- and you turn around and are vile when it suits you

So that's basically it- why should I be offended by the, how many is it now? 50 posts you've made attacking me? You're just someone who grew up in the shadow of the Nazi past and doesn't deal with it except by making comments about "pervert sex."

10-10:45 Crafts
10:45-11:00 Snack
11:00-12:00 Why AIDS is a punishment from God.
12:00-12:30 Lunch
12:30-1:00 Song time with Lynx and Lamb Gaede
1:00-2:00 Naptime

Here you go, Riley.

"1:00-12:00 Why AIDS is a punishment from God."

There's a slur. You don't say that to a gay person. To me, it's not a joke. I already know from LD's previous posts that he wrote it to harass me, or at best to amuse himself.

Just responding in kind to the attack you already made on me. Guess you ignored that part.

Gays don't have a "monopoly" on suffering AIDS, Daniel.

In fact, gays constitute only a minority of those really affected by it. Look into African countries, where large parts of the population are affected and can't afford the expensive medication that people in the West enjoy. These people are the ones who are really suffering. They are the ones who have a right to be upset about "AIDS is a punishment from God" comments. Not you.

Gays suffering from AIDS do not deserve more or less compassion than any other person who is unable to use effective measures against STD.

Klaus, the statement (ha, ha- I mean it was ostensibly a joke) was that AIDS was God's punishment.

That is not *me* claiming or not claiming anything about who deserves what in the way of compassion, please.

The statement about AIDS being God's punishment IS directed (in an obviously negative way) toward gays.

*Maybe*- maybe, seriously, this is a nuance of US culture? Maybe this is why you responded to something I neither said nor intended?

In any case, of course most of the people in the world who have AIDS are not gay and all AIDS patients deserve equal care and dignity.

For crying out loud, Daniel! You call me a bigot, and then bring my son into the mix. That's crossing a line. I made a joke about daycare then made up an example of what a white supremacist day care schedule might look like. Get over it. You attacked me, all I did was respond with satire. If you can't see that, that's your problem. Fcuk off.

I don't have a clue what you're talking about here, but I'm sure you found some paranoia fodder somewhere in something I said. I really do wake up every morning thinking to myself, "Let's see, I wonder what I can do to offend Daniel today?"

Please do, and hurry. You talk about rules, and moderating, and civility? You want "some god damned rules?" That's laughable. You've been benefitting here from a board that grits its collective teeth and lets mindless twattle like you've been posting go, in the name of free speech and free flow of ideas. The kind of crap you've let fly with would never survive on any board that actually did have any real moderation, unless it was a board set up to only espouse beliefs that mirror your own - in which case it isn't moderating, it's fascism.

You didn't start out having an enemy behind every tree, you've cultivated them. And your biggest enemy is yourself. If this is who you are, and if your posts from the last 24 hours are your idea of contributing, then go, and go now.
