HOLY CARP!!!
Several years ago, sometime around 1999 I attended my first ever Star Party in Nebraska. Before that trip I wanted to make sure I would have enough power to run my telescope and dew heaters but the commercially available power packs were what I considered "too pricey" for the amount of power they provided.

So, I set off to create my own. I wanted it to be able to hold two Deep Cycle Marine batteries and heavy duty battery charger and came up with what you see in the photos below.

It has been many many years since I used this. With the upcoming two star party attendances and possibly a third (Chielfland or bust!) I decided I better clean it up, get some new batteries and make sure it still worked. It does!

And here it is!

There is big yellow tray that sits on top of the battery compartment that I have to go pickup at the observatory. It holds all my tools and miscellaneous items that are useful at a star party.

I am also working on a battery stabilizer which will also act as a second shelf made of wood between the batteries and the tray.

Yeah, the typical stuff. Flashlights. Star maps. Equipment handbooks. Pink Floyd albums. Doobies. Allen wrenches. ^_^
I cite irreconcilable differences.
