Geaux Tigers!
Stars sometimes make dreck. Surprisingly, sometimes a lot of stars in one bad piece.

Consider....Oliver Reed, Michael York, Hugh Grant, John Mills and Emma Sams...and the production stunk.

Now, without googling....what was the name of this dud?

Emma Sams was a crappy actress. Nice looking, but a crappy actress.
It would be unwise to underestimate what large groups of ill-informed people acting together can achieve. -- John D'Oh, January 14, 2010.

I had to Google to find out that it was the last film for Gordon Jackson and Bernard Mills. Maybe it killed them. Movies released to TV aren't known for their high quality.

I went to a university with a drama department. I used to walk through the lounge and find them glued to the late show on TV to get a glimpse of some character actor I often had never heard of.

I remember her. Samms was well-endowed, but very short, almost munchkin-like. Even by soap opera standards she was a pretty awful actress.
Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool.

I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss!

Tom Cruise is possibly the worst actor to ever appear on screen. His "career" continues to tank worse than the Exxon Valdez... It makes me laugh and laugh...

Despite the fact that he's nuts, I think Cruise has actually done some good work. He was excellent as Vincent in "Collateral", for example.

The only movie he was ever in, that I didn't feel like he completely ruined, was "The Firm." Any other movie, he gets paired with really high-level actors like Dustin Hoffman or Paul Newman, (and in The Firm, he was with Gene Hackman), because they carry him.

He sucks. No matter what role he plays, he's always playing, "Tom Cruise," and never for a moment do you ever forget that you are watching Tom Cruise.

He's thoroughly awful.

Loved Jack Nicholson's performance in, "A Few Good Men," until he loses it and ends up getting convicted... His, "On the wall" rant/speech was phenomenal!

I loved his performance too, especially that classic courtroom scene.

But I don't get your comment - his rant/speech WAS what got him convicted, no?
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Hey, he was only taken into custody, never convicted. We don't know what happened after that.
The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it.
