I have a horrible, horrible, horrible job and I'm contemplating quitting it. It's barely worth getting out of bed for and it's making me miserable. I'm going on holiday in two weeks' time so I wouldn't be losing a lot if I quit now. I just needed a second to fifth opinion.

What does the job entail? Would you be able to easily find something else? I wouldn't quit unless you have another guaranteed job lined up. |

GTFO!!!! QUIT!!! Life is too short to cash your happiness in for a paycheck. Get something else lined up, first.

There isn't anything else. No one is recruiting for only two weeks. It's a McJob, only it's actually worse than that because there aren't even any chips. It's only 3 hours a day as well. I'm making so many cakes in the afternoons I'm going to get fat.

Hey I used to do that! But ditto what everyone else said. Regardless of circumstances, if the job sucks so much that you think you'd feel better working somewhere else, by all means jump ship! But, "the best time to look for a job is when you already have one," etc. |

Why are you only looking for something for a couple of weeks? Maybe you can give us some background, if you are looking for serious advice. |

How long are you going on vacation for? Why not keep the crappy job, and when you get home, look for a new job while you still have the old one? |

Because I'm going away at the beginning of August. I need something to tide me over till then, and then when I get back I'll need something else until the end of September. I've done more than my fair share of Mcjobs. Maybe I should sell something weird on Ebay, like my right foot or something. Meh. |

No, I am at home now. I think no one is leaving their jobs, they're all staying put this year. It's weird. |

A CELTA course. Going on holiday for 2 weeks, but then probably going to the Fringe as well when I get back. It's driving me mad, otherwise I would stick it out. It's not even a real restaurant, it's a nasty themed one which "cooks" food freshly arrived in plastic bags and warmed in the microwave. They start deep frying potato bits at 10am. |

With the help of other people. I wouldn't starve, obviously, but I don't want to be in that situation. |
