I always wondered what creeping phlox looked like. Our insurance company said they wouldn't cover it. |

gorgeous Jane! I love the bachelor's button! I noticed yesterday that it looks like all the crape myrtles I planted last year made it through the winter. I'm excited because that means I'll have a good burst of color in the hotter months when my spring blooms are long gone. |

I love bachelor's buttons also. I've got tons of them growing in my front yard, they grow like weeds. I have to remove several plants every spring (I plunk them out in front of my gate, because I can't bring myself to kill them, so I plant them outside the yard where the deer munch on them ). Mine are blooming now also, and they were just swarming with bees this weekend. Beautiful colour, aren't they?

The bachelor's button is my second most favorite color...the first is the color of your rhododendron....I don't know that I've seen that lovely shell pink before, it's yummy. I'm used to the purple variety. I guess if the bees like them, I better forget about it. I'm allergic. I have a lamb's ear next to my front door that I have to cut back as soon as it buds or I risk too much. |

Do you mean the one in my avatar? That one is called 'Turkish Delight'. Yummy name, isn't it? That's too bad about you and the bees. We're doing everything we can to attract bees here, but I sure wouldn't be able to do that if anyone in our house was allergic.

I replant obedience (HA!) plant, bee balm, creeping thyme, and bugleweed in the 'wild' patch of land next to our house as long as I can. But I have to take so much of it out over the summer that I eventually give up. Thank you everyone for all the compliments. I love gardening, and I have the pics of the flowers cycling as my screensaver through the winter. The bachelors button was a cutting from a friend last year and looked sad and droopy all summer, so I'm glad it's settled in. I need to get a rhododendron at some point, but there's so many around here that I want something really unusual! Sue yours is stunning though. |

Absolutely, beautiful, Jane! I do so miss my garden up north. Your pictures remind me so much of home. Down here in Florida, we have sand and I miss the deep dark rich dirt!!!!! I miss getting my hands in it. Anyhow, I love the pics! They're beautiful. |

Wow. Gorgeous flowers Jane D'Oh. Pleasing variety of leaf shapes and textures. The Carpet bugleweed is very pretty, reminds me of a plant that used to grow near our house when I was a kid. The bulb coming up between the sedum looks like some type of tulip. Oooh, I wish I had more room--like an acre! |
