Heat or cold? I can't get the stinger out. I can't see it and she's screaming. She keeps licking it. The vet opens in 30 minutes. What is the first aid? I think it is between the pads of her paw. |

Kenny, if she's really in distress call their emergency number, bee stings can cause bad reactions. |

Watch for swelling - esp. the muzzle. Any swelling, disorientation, etc. go to the vet. Try to remove the sting by scraping it off parellel to the skin. Diva's right ice. |

Random FML: Today, I was fired by my boss in front of my coworkers. It would have been nice if I could have left the building before they started celebrating. FML The founding of the bulk of the world's nation states post 1914 is based on self-defined nationalisms. The bulk of those national movements involve territory that was ethnically mixed. The foundation of many of those nation states involved population movements in the aftermath. When the only one that is repeatedly held up as unjust and unjustifiable is the Zionist project, the term anti-semitism may very well be appropriate. - P*D | |

WE are going to the vet. They open in 20 minutes. I wrapped it in a wash cloth of cold water and baking soda. Poor thing, she's screaming. Kizzy is freaking out now. She got a sting a year ago and recovered so I know she's not deathly allergic. |

I'm sure she'll be fine, but your thinking about allergies is incorrect. It is very often *not* the first sting, or exposure to an allergen, that causes the huge bad reaction, so just be watchful and careful. (am allergic to bee venom) |

Okay, back from the vet/pharmacy. Gave the Children's Cherry-Flavored Benadryl. Paw wrapped in corner of wet baking soda-filled wash cloth. Then one ice cube on that and wraped with the rest of the washcloth. Will only apply ice for 20 minutes at a time so we don't damage tissue. Rubber band holding it on. Doctor was not at vet office and will be there soon, so we will return to see if he can remove stinger if present. Thanks guys.

Just got back from the vet, $37. He said the stinger had already come out though he could see where it was. He said for 2 hours after the sting it was amazingly pain free and unswollen, and this must be because of the immediate ice and baking soda wrap. Now we repeat Benadryl every 8 hours for two days. Crisis over. |
