Is this an eBay scam?

Last Saturday I put up for auction a computer and monitor on eBay. Priced them to move (consistent with similar items have gone for in the recent past).

Yesterday afternoon, I got a message from an eBay user who wanted to know if I would ship to Spain (even though the listing says US sales only). I politely declined, saying that cost would be prohibitive, thank you very much.

This morning, I got a message from *another* eBay user who wanted to know if I would ship to Spain. He indicated that Paypal would be OK, and that he would pay all shipping costs to Spain.

Two messages from two buyers in two days asking to ship to the same foreign country.

I smell something stinky...

Nothing is as effective as homeopathy.

I'd rather listen to an hour of Abba than an hour of The Beatles.

I do too...but you can always look into the matter, and give out no information on your end. Couldn't hurt, right? Then again...those are famous last words.

I was selling a monitor on craigslist one time and this "lady" from NJ was offering me a bit more than I asked for it, but wanted me to ship it to her for her son, etc.....but either way she sounded sketchy and eventually I sold it to someone else who could meet me to pick it up.

I say look into it....but be very careful not to give out any info.

How valuable are the computer and monitor?

If they are in the <200$ range, then I'd say it is a scam for sure.

Otherwise people from Spain may actually want to buy your stuff - since the dollar is so weak currently, they'll probably pay much less than what they'd pay here, even after adding the shipping costs.

Why, what could they do?
Death is simply a shedding of the physical body like the butterfly shedding its cocoon. It is a transition to a higher state of consciousness where you continue to perceive, to understand, to laugh, and to be able to grow.

Just got another one from Norway.  :juggle:

If he/she is really from Norway that's not a scam almost for sure .

Compared to Norway, the US (and most of Europe) are low cost countries. I remember paying about 12$ for a burger at McDonalds in Oslo about two years ago. They also pay twice of what you pay for computer hardware.
