A sticky situation. Don't seat any of the delegates? Piss off the two state parties and kiss them goodbye in national elections. Seat some of the delegates? You still have some resentment amongst those state's party members, but also build resentment amongst the other states that did follow the party rules. You still lose Florida overall and Michigan is still in play but probably leaning towards McCain. You also have a chance of having other states going rogue in the future with the dates of their primaries as there were few repercussions to Florida or Michigan. Seat all the delegates? Piss off the other 48 states, Florida comes in play (but don't expect Obama to do well there) Michigan goes back to the same status as before all of this (somewhat in play but leaning strongly democrat), and you create anarchy for the next round of primaries in 2012 (2016 if the democrats win the White House). |
| The problem with having an open mind is that people keep trying to put things in it. | |

I have to say, the Republicans played this one much better. Because they only penalized each state half the delegation, both states ran a real race. By taking away all the delegates, the Dems set up this disaster. The one that disgusts me most of all is Hillary. Her campaign agreed to the rules, including the penalty, and now she's trying to circumvent it. |

Didn't Hillary's name stay on the ballot in Michigan (but not Florida)? So, basically, she ran unopposed (except for write-ins). |
