My doo wop group opened for the KPBS Ultimate Doo Wop Show here in Sandy Eggo this evening. We opened for: the Contours, Fleetwoods, Olympics, Crystals, Kathy Young, and the Drifters, plus a couple I can't remember right now. It was a sold-out house of ~3,000. We were originally only going to be allowed to sing one opening number, but after they heard our sound check, they let us sing two. The first song was Blue Moon, and I got to sing lead! This producer now likes us, so we'll very likely get more gigs from him in the future. Things are looking up.... More story and photos to follow. |

Thats' wild! How cool. I thought we'd be coming out the first week in August, but now it is looking doubtful. If we do I surely hope you have a gig going. |

I believe it wasn't broadcast or recorded, unfortunately. I would dearly love to see it. However, Kathi Diamant seemed really impressed with us, and I offered our services to KPBS, so maybe we'll have a collaboration in the future. |

And now for some photos: KPBS held a "Meet & Greet" for special donors to meet with the performers after the show. Before the guests arrived, we got the chance to mingle a little and take pictures. The biggies were all very complimentary of our performance. Here are the Fleetwoods: ![]() The Contours: ![]() Charlie Thomas' Drifters: ![]() Me, with Kathy Young(and yes, she's sixty-something): ![]() Me again, with the Crystals: ![]() The young lady on the right, Melissa Antoinette, aka MelSoulTree, is someone to be on the lookout for. Her voice is incredible, and she's classically-trained. |

If things keep going the way they're going, it just might. We've dazzled three producers so far, with a couple more to go. Then we can start making some money while we're at it..... |
