Hillary cuts Obama's lead in half In only one week! With one week left! This isn't the only poll to show this, either. IMO, if Clinton loses by under 5 points in NC, it's really a victory for her. |

It's hard not to be impressed with Clinton's determination. |

Civilisation, I vaguely realized then - and subsequent observation has confirmed the view - could not progress that way. It must have a greater guiding principle to survive. To treat it as a carcase off which each man tears as much as he can for himself, is to stand convicted a brute, fit for nothing better than a jungle existence, which is a death-struggle, leading nowhither. I did not believe that was the human destiny, for Man individually was sane and reasonable, only collectively a fool. I hope the gunner of that Hun two-seater shot him clean, bullet to heart, and that his plane, on fire, fell like a meteor through the sky he loved. Since he had to end, I hope he ended so. But, oh, the waste! The loss! - Cecil Lewis | |

Wonder how much she's paying the good Reverend Wright? He's gonna need a big mondo collection plate. |

Even Dean's toned down on trying to force the Super-delegates to decide now. He's also changing his stand on delegate counts and popular votes to talking about electability. I think Hillary just might get this nomination. Which scares me, because I could picture Obama taking the VP slot, while I would never see Clinton accepting the VP. And that's the democrats best chance right now, a joint ticket. Time to start rooting for Obama again! |

I don't think she'll offer it to him. If he's smart he won't take it. |

I wonder who Hillary would offer the VP slot to if she became the candidate. A lot of likely prospects became Obama supporters. |

If she had two of the three things necessary (pledged delegate lead, popular vote, lead in the polls) I think the superdelegates could decide to go for her. I know she won't have a lead in the pledged delegates, but she might get the latter two. I think she would offer the slot to Obama then. It shows the black vote that she has nothing against them and that she's not exactly stabbing Obama in the back to steal the win. I used to agree that Obama should reject a VP slot offer from Clinton and wait four years or so - but now I wonder if he is so damaged he'll never get another shot at it. Each might now be willing to hook up with the other in a bid for success (i.e., power). Obama's repudiation of Rev. Wright shows he is willing to do the "wet work" often needed in a Presidential campaign. |
